
Attending the exercise were: Major General Tran Van Bac, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Commander of Military Region 2, Head of the Military Region 2 Exercise Steering Committee; Hoang Van Nghiem, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the Provincial Defense Zone Exercise Steering Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee; the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the Son La Provincial Defense Zone Exercise 2026; leaders of departments, agencies, armed forces and related units.






During the exercise, participating forces demonstrated martial arts, qigong, and conducted live-fire drills to handle A2-level situations. According to the simulated scenario, the forces carried out various practical exercises such as: combating terrorist activities and cyberattacks; preventing infiltration across the border; apprehending terrorists and rescuing hostages; organizing firefighting, rescue operations, and bomb and explosive ordnance disposal. Throughout the exercise, the forces strictly followed the planned content and program; coordinated closely, and handled situations flexibly and effectively. The practical exercises were conducted realistically, ensuring absolute safety for personnel and equipment.

The exercise aims to test the organizational, command, and coordination capabilities of various forces and functional units in handling national defense and security situations; to enhance the combat strength, operational skills, professional expertise, and specialized skills of officers and soldiers in handling simulated situations, contributing to building a solid provincial defense zone, meeting the requirements and tasks of national construction and defense in the new situation.

On this occasion, the leaders presented gifts and encouraged the forces participating in the exercise; acknowledging the sense of responsibility, effort, and determination of the officers and soldiers during the training and execution of the exercise contents.
