According to Variety , Catherine O'Hara, a two-time Emmy Award-winning actress famous for her role in Home Alone and for her impressive late-career comeback in Schitt's Creek , has passed away at the age of 71.

Born in Toronto, O'Hara gradually became a beloved figure in Los Angeles. In 2021, she was appointed honorary mayor of the Brentwood neighborhood.
She passed away, leaving behind her husband, production designer Bo Welch, two sons, Matthew and Luke, and their siblings.
