DIFF 2025 - A explosive boost for Da Nang's summer tourism season.

From the opening ceremony to the third night of the competition on June 14th, the audience was not only treated to spectacular fireworks but also immersed in a vibrant, multi-faceted festival atmosphere where traditional art combined with modern technology, creating an unprecedentedly exciting summer.

Constantly reinvented, DIFF 2025 impresses with the participation of renowned fireworks teams, top performing artists, and especially technological applications such as Sky AR – an outdoor augmented reality platform that allows visitors to interact directly with the festival via mobile phones. Along with that, a series of accompanying activities such as the Da Nang Enjoyment Festival, the artistic kite festival, day and night performances at Ba Na Hills, and the vibrant atmosphere at Da Nang Downtown have contributed to positioning Da Nang as a leading event destination in the region.

According to Ms. Truong Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, the strong involvement of businesses is the "key" to helping the city develop and maintain unique tourism products.

"DIFF 2025 is expected to attract 4 to 4.5 million visitors during the summer, an increase of about 12% - 15% compared to the same period in 2024," Ms. Hanh emphasized .

In fact, during the DIFF 2025 event, the average occupancy rate at hotels in the city consistently exceeded 80%, with hotels located near the performance area such as Novotel Danang Premier Han River, Premier Village, and InterContinental Danang reaching 85% to 95%. Each performance attracted approximately 70,000 guests, providing strong impetus for service industries such as food , travel, and retail to accelerate their growth.

Returning to the performances on the evening of June 14th, the third night of DIFF 2025 continued to thrill the audience with a colorful and emotional competition between the teams from Canada and China. With the theme "Journey of Connection," the performances were not simply light shows, but stories told through fireworks that connected the hearts of tens of thousands of people.

Night 3, DIFF 2025: A Journey of Connection

The show opened with Orion Fireworks from Canada, performing "Star Dust - Magical Starlight." From bursts of fireworks resembling a sparkling meteor shower to a dazzling climax of red, yellow, and blue hues blending to the music of "Power of Love" and "Never Give Up on Your Dreams," the Canadian team led the audience into a dreamlike world where fireworks were not only beautiful but also told a story of hope, magic, and the future. "It's unbelievable that I had the chance to see a performance by my home team all the way in Vietnam. I feel so proud and happy!" shared Emily, a tourist from Canada, emotionally after the performance ended.

This is a performance by the Jiangxi Yanfeng team from China.

Next up was the performance by the Jiangxi Yanfeng team from China – the reigning runner-up of DIFF 2024. Inspired by the Journey to the West, the Chinese team created a fireworks "spin-off" using top-notch performance techniques and exclusive fireworks effects developed by themselves. Without needing much background music, just the song "The Road We Take" was enough for their seamless, powerful performance, showcasing the depth of Eastern culture and storytelling in a truly impressive way.

Beyond just fireworks, the competition night was also a grand musical festival with the participation of famous artists such as Noo Phuoc Thinh, Meritorious Artist Phuong Anh, TV group, etc., creating a vibrant and modern entertainment space while retaining the unique identity of DIFF.

The foundation for the success of DIFF 2025

Besides the sublime moments of art, a key factor contributing to the success of DIFF 2025 is ensuring absolute safety for residents and tourists. Drawing on experience from previous seasons, the Da Nang City Police have implemented comprehensive operational plans, proactively monitoring the area and being ready to handle any situation.

On the evening of June 14th, at the City Police Command Center, the modern surveillance camera system with 360-degree panning and ultra-sharp zoom capabilities was fully activated. Key locations such as the Dragon Bridge, the Han River Bridge, Bach Dang Street, and the spectator area were closely monitored, with live images transmitted to the center for timely situational response.

The Fire and Rescue Police Force deployed specialized vehicles in "satellite" areas around the stage, Tran Thi Ly Bridge, APEC Park, etc., ready to respond to any incident. From 6 PM, thousands of police officers from the city, along with forces from the Mobile Police Command, the Army, and local security forces, simultaneously deployed on bridges, crowded areas, parking lots, and grandstands. Traffic police regulated traffic flow from a distance; plainclothes police, mobile police, and criminal investigators patrolled the area…

The proactive, coordinated, and decisive actions of the relevant authorities ensured that the third night of the DIFF 2025 competition proceeded safely and smoothly. This serves as a foundation for the successful organization of subsequent nights, contributing to building the image of a safe Da Nang.
