Novak Djokovic came from behind to beat sixth seed Hubert Hurkacz 5-7, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (2) to win the Geneva Open, reaching the milestone of 100 ATP Tour titles. Despite losing the first set and trailing 2-4 in the deciding set, the Serbian still managed to break back and win both tie-breaks with the same score of 7-2.

Hurkacz, who had just returned from a knee injury, played with his leg wrapped in bandages. Despite having to seek medical attention after the second set, the Polish player still fought hard to create a tight match.

"I think Hurkacz played better than me and was ahead for most of the time. This victory is a miracle. Of course I fought hard. If Hurkacz hadn't suffered a knee injury, he probably would have won" - Djokovic said after reaching the milestone of 100 titles.

It's been a particularly memorable week for the Serbian. Not only did he celebrate his 38th birthday, he also became the third man in the Open Era to reach 100 ATP titles - after American legend Jimmy Connors and fellow 'Big 3' player Roger Federer of Switzerland.

Djokovic won his first ATP title in 2006, defeating Nicolas Massu in the Dutch Open final. Nearly two decades later, at his 100th title, he defeated Massu's student Hubert Hurkacz to complete the meaningful achievement.

The joy was even more complete when Djokovic's family was present in the stands to witness this historic milestone.

Notably, this is also Djokovic's first ATP title after a nine-month wait, since he won the men's singles gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics last August.

"My team, thank you, not only for being with me in the good times, but also in the bad times. You are the ones who know how difficult it is to maintain this level of madness on the court. I want to thank you for helping me achieve this 100th victory" - Djokovic sent his thanks to his team.

More notably, this title came right after Djokovic and Andy Murray said goodbye to each other before Roland Garros.
