At the construction site, engineer Ho Minh Canh - the site manager of Quang Nam Transportation Construction Joint Stock Company - said that this is the first bored pile for pier T33. The project will proceed with casting a total of 9 piers, each with 2 bored piles. The length of the T33 pier pile is 57m, and according to the design, a total of 76m³ of cement concrete must be poured.

Meanwhile, the subcontractor, Tan Tien Investment and Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company, has also dismantled the railings and pedestrian walkways on the left side of the three spans from the northern end of the bridge inwards. These railings and pedestrian walkways are not located in areas where bridge piers need to be constructed, so they were removed first. At locations where piers are being constructed, the contractor will only proceed with the superstructure after this item is completed. Tan Tien is also responsible for constructing the superstructure, other structures, dismantling and installing the lighting system on the bridge, ensuring traffic flow.

Regarding the project's progress, engineer Ho Minh Canh shared that the preparation work required considerable time to mobilize barges, equipment, machinery, and materials, as well as to build loading and unloading docks on the river. Fortunately, the construction site on the Nam Phuoc town side has a loading and unloading dock, and the local authorities have provided maximum support for setting up temporary camps and gathering machinery and materials. Now that all preparations are stable, the contractor can begin construction.

According to engineer Nguyen Van Cong - Chief Supervision Consultant of the project (Quang Nam Transportation Consulting Joint Stock Company), the work is progressing according to plan. However, due to the onset of the rainy and stormy season, construction must be halted if there is a major flood. Monitoring shows that if the floodwater level of the Thu Bon River at Cau Lau reaches alarm level 2, the contractor must urgently report to the investor (Provincial Department of Transportation) so that the managing agency can decide whether to prohibit all vehicles and people from crossing the bridge to ensure safety.

On April 17, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 947 approving the adjustment of the total investment and the investment project for the repair of the old Cau Lau Bridge. The total investment after adjustment is approximately 36 billion VND. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport as the investor. The repair project of the old Cau Lau Bridge aims to maintain the bridge's operational capacity, serving the transportation needs of the people of Dien Ban, Duy Xuyen, and surrounding areas. In particular, the completed project will alleviate traffic congestion for small- грузовые vehicles, motorbikes, and bicycles currently using the new Cau Lau Bridge, ensuring traffic safety.

The winning bidder for the construction contract is Quang Nam Transportation Construction Joint Stock Company. The contract duration is 365 days. Construction commenced on September 29, 2024. The list of subcontractors includes: Tan Tien Investment and Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company; Minh Chau Construction Design and Inspection Consulting Joint Stock Company. The project supervision consultant is Quang Nam Transportation Consulting Joint Stock Company.
