The rural landscape of Can Dang commune is improving.
The appearance of the rural area of Can Dang today has changed dramatically with a solid road and bridge system, socio -economic development, and improved living standards for the people.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee, Duong Nguyen Chan Phuong, after implementing the two-tiered government model, the locality has conducted a comprehensive review of its potential to propose solutions for sustainable development. Besides its agricultural strengths, Can Dang focuses on vocational training, job creation, developing non-agricultural sectors, and effectively implementing social welfare policies.
Last year, the locality achieved and exceeded all 8/8 socio-economic targets. Specifically, per capita income reached 69 million VND/year; and the poverty rate according to the multidimensional standard decreased to 1.58%.

The people of Can Dang commune are working together to build rural bridges and roads.
Economic development has created the foundation for the locality to effectively mobilize resources for infrastructure and public welfare projects. Following the motto "The people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people contribute, and the people benefit," Can Dang has promoted social mobilization, encouraging the people to work together to build a system of well-maintained, clean, and beautiful roads and alleys.
Mr. Cao Thanh Hung, from Can Thanh, happily shared that the people are very pleased with the comprehensive changes in their hometown. Thanks to the attention of the government and the unity of the people, the material and spiritual lives of the people have improved significantly; the rural bridge and road system has been built solidly, creating favorable conditions for trade and travel.

The Kênh Đứng bridge has been inaugurated.
According to Ms. Duong Nguyen Chan Phuong, after the merger, Can Dang commune is a purely agricultural area with limited rural transportation infrastructure. Therefore, developing transportation infrastructure needs to be linked to the goals of agricultural economic development, rural development, and adaptation to climate change.
Therefore, the commune focuses on investing in completing a synchronized, inter-commune and inter-regional transportation network. Priority is given to mobilizing diverse resources to invest in the construction and upgrading of rural bridge systems.
Since the merger, Can Dang commune has built three new rural traffic bridges: Kenh Dung, Bon Tong 2, and Tam Hien 7, with a total cost of over 2 billion VND, funded through social mobilization.
Currently, the commune is constructing the Vinh Thanh Pagoda Bridge (Vinh Hoa B hamlet), a reinforced concrete bridge with a length of 37m, a width of 4.7m, and a load capacity of 5 tons, with a total construction cost of 1.2 billion VND, funded through social mobilization.
In 2026, the commune will implement the concreting of the road along the southern bank of Ngọn Cái; upgrade and repair the inter-commune road between Cần Đăng and Vĩnh Hanh (Nam Trà Kiết); and concretize the DH 04B road (western bank of Bốn Tổng).
In addition, the Hang Tra - Tra Can road (East bank) will be upgraded and repaired, with a total cost of 15.4 billion VND, funded by the State budget.

The Vinh Thanh Pagoda Bridge has concrete piers and abutments on both sides of the Tra Kiet canal.
While pouring concrete for the pillars and abutments of the bridge over the Tra Kiet canal with the local people, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu (Team Leader of the Vinh Thanh Pagoda Bridge Construction Team, Vinh Hoa B area) said that the people have wholeheartedly contributed their labor and efforts to build a new bridge to replace the old, dilapidated one.
It is expected that in about two weeks, once the concrete structure is stable, the team will proceed with installing the girders and constructing the bridge deck. Local residents are eagerly awaiting the completion of this meaningful bridge, and at the same time express their gratitude for the attention and care given to rural life by the authorities at all levels.

Can Dang commune mobilizes the people's strength to build a new rural area.
Chairman of the People's Committee Duong Nguyen Chan Phuong affirmed that completing a comprehensive transportation infrastructure is the foundation for promoting economic growth, attracting investment, and improving people's lives. This is also a prerequisite for Can Dang to successfully achieve the goal of becoming a new rural area by 2028, aiming towards modern and sustainable agricultural development.
