E-commerce leverage

E-commerce is helping to bridge the gap between products and consumers.

Innovate sales methods.

Livestreaming is a sales method being encouraged by ministries, departments, and localities. Binh Kien ward, Ea Knuec commune, Ea Kiet commune, etc., are examples of localities that have successfully sold agricultural products through livestreaming. As a result, 60 tons of durian were sold out during a livestream session in Ea Knuec commune; 1 ton of Son Trieu rice and 74 liters of Long Thuy fish sauce from Binh Kien ward were also ordered within 2 hours of the livestream…

According to Mr. Vo Sy Tung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Kiet commune, the locality encourages businesses and people in the commune to access and sell goods online to keep pace with the needs of consumers in the digital age. "Online sales through Facebook, Zalo, TikTok, and livestreaming are helping people and businesses innovate their production and business thinking, reduce sales costs, change daily consumption and living habits, and aim to increase efficiency in the application of e-commerce and digital transformation," Mr. Tung said.

Many farmers have boldly embraced and gradually mastered digital technology by building their own channels to promote and sell their products. Ms. Vi Thi An (Thai village, Ea Kiet commune) is one example. Initially, she shared how to identify authentic smoked beef and how to preserve the product. As her follower count increased, she gradually expanded to introducing and selling her products. As a result, online orders have steadily increased, with customers not only from within the province but also from many other localities.

According to Ms. An, the familiar dishes from her hometown are considered new outside the region, so to sell more, she needs to make them known to more people outside the region. "Only social media can help spread information quickly and widely, so I built a channel to help sell my products," Ms. An shared.

Strengthening infrastructure to support trade promotion.

Selling products is just the beginning. When participating in e-commerce, products must meet stricter new "rules of the game," from traceability and quality standards to packaging, shipping, and cashless payments…

This is also why many businesses proactively invest systematically to conquer the market. At Simexco Daklak (2-9 Dak Lak Import-Export Company Limited), the company has strengthened its raw material sources, invested in modern machinery and technology, and promoted digital transformation, applying data systems in all stages to control quality and traceability. With just a touch of the screen, customers can access all information about the company and its production and processing processes. This helps meet the stringent requirements of foreign markets.

To support businesses in promoting their goods and products, in the first quarter of 2026, the Dak Lak Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Development took over the management and operation of the e-commerce platform phuyentrade.gov.vn; and continuously updated price news, trade promotion activities, activities and export needs of foreign partners, and many other activities on the Department of Industry and Trade's website. On these pages, the unit creates regular interaction and information connections with businesses to support them in trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand, in order to increase opportunities for promotion, investment cooperation, and market expansion.

Simultaneously, Dak Lak province is promoting the development of infrastructure supporting electronic transactions in commerce and public services; focusing on developing cashless payments, e-wallets, QR codes, security technologies, and exploiting e-commerce data for management purposes. The province is also attracting investment to develop delivery and logistics centers; implementing fast delivery and green packaging models; and strengthening international cooperation, learning from experience, and applying new technologies to promote the modern and sustainable development of e-commerce.
