Crowds of people in Ho Chi Minh City flocked to temples to pray for peace on the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon).

From early morning on the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year), many people flocked to temples in Ho Chi Minh City to light incense and pray for peace and blessings for everyone and every family.
According to Thanh Nien newspaper this morning, the first day of Tet (February 10th), Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (District 3) and Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda (District 10) were packed with people offering incense and prayers. On the first day of spring, everyone was joyful and respectful, hoping for a year of good fortune and peace for all.

Living near Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, for decades, Mrs. Huyen (57 years old, residing in District 3) has come here every first day of Tet (Lunar New Year) to light incense and pray. She said that almost every year the pagodas are crowded, so she's not surprised. "It's always the same; I pray for peace and health for myself, my family, and everyone else. I really hope for a new year filled with good things for everyone," she expressed.
