From early morning on the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year), many people flocked to temples in Ho Chi Minh City to light incense and pray for peace and blessings for everyone and every family.
At over 9 a.m., crowds of people flocked to Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City).

Many people in Ho Chi Minh City, along with their relatives and friends, visited temples to light incense and express their reverence.

Living near Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, for decades, Mrs. Huyen (57 years old, residing in District 3) has come here every first day of Tet (Lunar New Year) to light incense and pray. She said that almost every year the pagodas are crowded, so she's not surprised. "It's always the same; I pray for peace and health for myself, my family, and everyone else. I really hope for a new year filled with good things for everyone," she expressed.

The path leading up was packed with people on the morning of the first day of Tet.

With incense smoke rising in thick plumes, everyone sincerely expressed their wishes for the new year of the Wood Dragon 2024.

Meanwhile, this morning, Vietnam National Pagoda (District 10) was also crowded with people coming to offer incense.

Among those who came was Ms. Thanh Thuy, who came with her family. She said that almost every year, her whole family visits the three temples on the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year) to pray for peace and well-being, as an indispensable family tradition. "I only wish for my parents' health, my children's intelligence and academic success, and a happy family," she expressed.
