The event attracted 150 athletes competing in two distances: 5km and 15km. Starting from The Secret Con Dao Hotel, the Save Turtles Run route passed through famous historical sites of Con Dao such as: the Con Dao Prison Complex, Hang Keo Cemetery, the 914 Pier, and Quang Trung Lake - the largest freshwater lake on the island.
This is the second consecutive year that The Secret Con Dao Hotel has organized the "Run for Sea Turtles" program to raise funds for sea turtle conservation in Con Dao.

The charity run to raise funds for the conservation of sea turtles in Con Dao was launched by The Secret Con Dao Hotel at the beginning of July.
Unlike the event held in 2022, this time, with the participation of Vrun, the scale of the 2023 program has been expanded through a free online running event on the Vrun platform.
For every kilometer completed by online runners, The Secret Con Dao Hotel contributes 1,000 VND to the Con Dao National Park's sea turtle conservation fund. Runners can also contribute further by purchasing items such as running shirts or official race medals.
In addition, when athletes book accommodation and pay the race participation fee directly, The Secret Con Dao Hotel also donates 100,000 VND per person from its revenue to the sea turtle conservation fund.

According to a representative of The Secret Con Dao Hotel, the total amount raised during this running event was over 130 million VND, and the entire sum was handed over to representatives of Con Dao National Park to support sea turtle conservation efforts immediately after the race concluded.
The Con Dao archipelago (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) currently has the best sea turtle conservation efforts and also the largest number of sea turtles that naturally choose to lay their eggs in Vietnam. Over the years, the sea turtle conservation work of Con Dao National Park has attracted many tourists to Con Dao and provided them with more knowledge about this rare animal.
