In the 2025 high school graduation exam, the whole province has nearly 10,000 candidates from 47 high schools registered to take the exam at 22 testing locations. According to the report of the provincialeducation sector, at some high schools, to take the exam, many students have to travel far from home, rent a place to stay, so they face many difficulties and need support both materially and spiritually.
Mr. Dang Hong Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: In addition to fully preparing the conditions for facilities, human resources and exam organization plans, the department pays special attention to supporting candidates, especially those in difficult circumstances, remote areas. We have directed schools and exam locations to proactively review and make a list of students in need of support, and coordinate with parents, local authorities, and mass organizations to arrange food, accommodation, and transportation for students during the exam period. The general spirit is to create the best conditions for all candidates to participate in the exam, not allowing any student to drop out of the exam due to circumstances.
Following the direction of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Examination, high schools in the province have reviewed and listed about 1,000 students with difficult circumstances to develop appropriate support plans. At the same time, schools in the province have mobilized more than 560 million VND to support accommodation, transportation, lunch, and school supplies for students.
Hoang Phi Yen, a student of class 12C4, Dinh Lap High School, shared: My house is in Na Khum village, Lam Ca commune, nearly 30 km from Dinh Lap town. At this time, many of my classmates in the same dormitory have gone home and studied by themselves, waiting for the exam day. As for me, I stayed in the dormitory to save on travel expenses and have a quiet space to focus on studying. At first, I was very worried, not knowing how I would eat and rest properly between exams to continue taking the next subjects. Luckily, the school informed us about being supported with lunch, drinking water and necessary tools, so I was no longer worried and focused on studying for the exam.
This year, Dinh Lap High School has 197 candidates participating in the high school exam, of which 20 students are in difficult circumstances. Accompanying them in this exam, the school mobilized social resources to support each candidate in difficulty with 300,000 VND. In addition to the school's candidates, there are 78 candidates from the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education, the District Boarding Secondary School - High School for Ethnic Minorities and independent candidates. On this occasion, the school coordinated with the Youth Union to establish volunteer teams to support the transportation of candidates, clean the exam hall, distribute exam material bags to 275 candidates, give drinking water and cook 90 free lunches every day for candidates during the exam.
Through research, it is known that in order to ensure that candidates are present at the exam location on time, schools also proactively develop plans to respond to adverse weather situations (storms causing floods, landslides cutting off traffic). Accordingly, each school makes a list of candidates taking the exam with full information: full name, address, phone number of candidates, candidates' family members, and clearly states cases of difficult circumstances that need support. This list is sent to the volunteer teams supporting the exam for monitoring. If close to the exam time, candidates are not present, the teacher will immediately notify the volunteer team to call and remind candidates and their families to arrive at the exam room on time, or directly pick up candidates at home to take them to the exam location.
In addition, schools have encouraged students living far away to rent a room or contact families of friends near the exam location when heavy rains occur. At the same time, they have instructed students to prepare flexible travel plans if the road from home to the exam location is affected by storms and floods. In addition, the principals of schools in the area with exam locations have contacted nearby kindergartens and primary schools to arrange lunch breaks and mobilize support for free meals for candidates living far away. In particular, the principals of many schools have also mobilized organizations and businesses to support scholarships, accommodation and travel expenses, as well as meals and drinks for candidates in difficult circumstances.
Mr. To Viet, Principal of Tu Doan High School (Loc Binh District) said: This year, Tu Doan High School has 166 grade 12 students from the school participating in the exam, they come from many communes such as San Vien, Tinh Bac, Tu Mich, Tu Doan and Khuat Xa; some students live 20 km away from the school, so traveling is very difficult. In particular, the terrain of the communes here is mostly divided by many rivers and streams, so if it rains heavily, floods and landslides are likely to occur, making it difficult for students to move from home to the exam site. Therefore, we have contacted Tu Doan 1 Kindergarten to arrange temporary accommodation for students. Before June 25, the school will mobilize students who live far away or have to cross rivers and streams to live near the exam area to ensure that they arrive on time. So far, 34 students have registered to stay; 43 students have registered to use lunch and dinner. These meals are mobilized by the school from socialized sources, ensuring that students can take their exams with peace of mind.
Not only planning and supporting accommodation and transportation, many schools also focus on accompanying disadvantaged students in their review work. Typically, at the Cao Loc District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, most of the students are in difficult circumstances. To support them, the school's teachers' union has responded to the movement "No Sunday off, for the goal of reaching dreams". Specifically, every Sunday, teachers in the exam review group regularly teach 12th grade students without receiving any remuneration, with the spirit of "teachers accompany, students take steady steps", thereby hoping to contribute to helping students confidently enter the important exam.
Through many practical ways, all levels, sectors and schools in the province are concentrating resources, demonstrating the highest sense of responsibility, creating all conditions for candidates, especially students in disadvantaged areas, to confidently enter the exam. We believe that the attention from all levels, sectors and the support of society will help candidates participating in the 2025 High School Exam achieve the highest results.
