Efforts to bring scientific knowledge closer to young people.
In 2026, Kim Dong Publishing House launched 2045 Books – a new non-fiction book brand targeting young and adult readers. The launch of 2045 Books marks a shift in the publishing direction of a company that has for many years been associated with children's books, comics, and young adult literature.
In line with its development strategy, 2045 Books focuses on modern scientific knowledge books with topics shaping contemporary life such as artificial intelligence, data, technology, science, psychology, environment, and socio- economic issues. The name "2045" is a reference to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the nation, while also expressing the aspiration to build a development journey based on knowledge. Through carefully selected books, 2045 Books aims to help readers gain a deeper understanding of how the world operates, how technology will impact life, and what people need to prepare to proactively adapt to the future.
In its first few months after launch, the brand introduced several notable books on science and AI, such as "A Brief History of Intelligence - From Sea Worms to ChatGPT," "Living Relaxed in the Age of AI," and " Artificial Intelligence Through the Lens of Psychology"...
In addition, 2045 Books is also preparing to introduce many new works on philosophy, ethics, and the meaning of life. The overall goal is to build a book ecosystem that helps young people broaden their perspectives, develop critical thinking, and improve their self-learning abilities.
Previously, Tre Publishing House made its mark with the "Science and Discovery" series, which was launched in 2008. After nearly two decades of development, the series has more than 50 titles covering various fields such as physics, mathematics, astronomy, biology, chemistry, and information technology. Many works in the series have gained widespread popularity, such as "A Brief History of Time," "The Universe in a Nutshell," and "Five Equations That Changed the World"... "A Brief History of Time" alone has been reprinted more than 30 times.
Recently, the National Political Publishing House has also been promoting the publication of books on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Notable titles include "Digital Transformation - International Experience and a Roadmap for Vietnam," "Developing New Productive Forces for Breakthroughs in the Digital Age," "Artificial Intelligence for Good," "Using Social Media Properly," and "Every Profession Needs AI"... These books help readers approach technological issues from a practical perspective, closer to everyday life.

Essential knowledge for the AI era
According to Ms. Vu Thi Quynh Lien, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House, in 2026, the company will launch many new book lines for young readers. While the Youth Book Collection fosters patriotic traditions, ideals, and the spirit of self-reliance and career development, and a sense of responsibility to the community, the 2045 Books line aims to equip young people with scientific and technological knowledge and life skills. This new book brand aims to build a foundation of understanding for the younger generation in the face of the changing times, providing books rich in modern scientific knowledge, contributing to equipping them with comprehensive thinking so that young people can confidently take control of their future.
Author Ta Huy Cuong stated that his motivation for writing "Every Profession Needs AI" stemmed from the realization that AI is not just a technology, but also a tool to help people work smarter and live better. Through his experience applying AI in script editing, filmmaking, media writing, and audience behavior analysis, he observed that this technology can save a significant amount of time and unlock new sources of creative inspiration. The overarching message of the book is that everyone can leverage AI to improve work efficiency, provided they know how to use the technology correctly.
For many young readers, modern science books are becoming a bridge to help them access complex issues in a more understandable language. Nguyen Lan Phuong (a student at the National Economics University) said she is currently reading "Living Relaxed in the Age of AI." "Every day new AI tools are released, making it easy for young people like me to get caught up in them and feel anxious. The book helps me understand that it's important to know what you're using AI for, rather than chasing after everything," student Nguyen Lan Phuong expressed.
In an age where information is abundant on digital platforms, science books still retain their unique value due to their systematic nature, reliability, and ability to guide thinking. The increasing investment by publishers in scientific knowledge books contributes to fostering a spirit of discovery, the ability to ask questions, and self-learning skills, helping young people proactively navigate a future shaped by science, technology, and innovation.
