Investment analysis

Dong A Securities (DAS) : Financial stocks are playing a decisive role in the market's direction, while sectors with favorable business conditions such as aviation, rubber, technology, and retail... maintain their upward momentum, with their share prices less affected by the market correction.

Investors can make exploratory investments while waiting for confirmation signals that the correction phase has ended. Pay attention to stocks that have been consolidating recently and still have room to rise to their 2024 peaks for T+ trading.

Yuanta Securities Vietnam (YSVN) : The market may continue its upward trend in the next session. At the same time, the market is still in a short-term consolidation phase, so it may continue to trade sideways around the current level in the coming sessions. A positive sign is the return of capital to the VN30 group of stocks, but this trend is not yet clear and needs further confirmation in the next few sessions.

Furthermore, growth stocks continue their upward trend and are not yet ready to return to large-cap stocks as selling pressure from foreign investors remains high.

Beta Securities : From a technical perspective, although the main short-term trend of the VN-Index remains upward, the trend strength continues to weaken as technical indicators such as SAR, MACD, and the (DI+, DI-) pair maintain negative signals. Currently, the 1,250 - 1,260 point range will act as short-term support for the market.

In the current market conditions, investors need to exercise caution and carefully consider their options before making any trading decisions. Investors should manage risk wisely and maintain a reasonable cash allocation, which will help them seize opportunities when the market corrects.

Beta believes that cash flow will continue to be highly diversified, focusing on stocks with solid fundamentals and less susceptible to short-term fluctuations.

Stock market news brief

- Gasoline prices have increased for the second consecutive time. At the price adjustment on June 20th, the inter-ministerial committee did not allocate or utilize the Gasoline Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, and fuel oil.

Accordingly, gasoline is 198 VND/liter higher than the current base price, which is 958 VND/liter lower than RON95-III gasoline. RON95-III gasoline will not exceed 22,466 VND/liter (an increase of 231 VND/liter compared to the current base price). Diesel 0.05S will not exceed 20,360 VND/liter (an increase of 720 VND/liter compared to the current base price).

- Vietnam's GDP is recovering quite well. Dr. Nguyen Thi Vu Ha from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, stated that in the first half of 2024, Vietnam's GDP growth recovered quite well, estimated at 5.8%. However, the rate is still slow and about 1% lower than the potential growth rate before the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the money market, interest rates decreased in 2023 and increased again in the first six months of 2024 in both the interbank market and the deposit and lending activities of credit institutions. Credit growth was weak for most of 2023 (except for December) and very low in the first half of 2024, indicating weak capital absorption capacity of the economy .
