Double2T before their appearance at the Youth Concert
Double2T is a special piece in the Youth Concert, a special event celebrating the founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union organized by Tien Phong Newspaper . The male rapper exudes the charisma of a young artist charting a unique path with music , using rap to contribute positive values to the community.
When Double2T stepped onto the stage of Rap Viet season 3, the rapper from Tuyen Quang showed the unique personality of a "mountain boy," effectively using readily available elements from his hometown (regional characteristics, accent) to create rap songs with a fresh and distinctive style.
Rap music in the Vietnamese market continues to thrive, with a chaotic mix of diverse rappers. Many of the contestants who competed against Double2T in Rap Viet Season 3 have established themselves in the market. They continue to participate in game shows like "Anh trai say hi" (Brother Says Hi), or aggressively release music videos and albums to fiercely compete in the Vietnamese music scene.
Double2T has reduced the frequency of his music releases, focusing instead on building his reputation in the more academic segment. To date, the rapper from Tuyen Quang has reaped clear rewards, collaborating with many big names. Soon, Double2T will join the ranks of artists at the Youth Concert - where the rapper will have a special collaboration with famous artists on stage.
The winner of Rap Viet Season 3 will once again show the audience the unique style of a rapper who goes against the mainstream, aiming for valuable music for the masses. At the Youth Concert , Double2T's rap segments will select the most beautiful and meaningful lyrics to blend into the atmosphere of this special music event for the aspiring young generation of the country.
Was Double2T's choice the right one?
Double2T may not be the most skilled rapper in season 3 of Rap Viet, but he certainly has the most accessible musical personality for a wide audience. Because of this difference, the "Mountain Man" surpassed many strong contenders like 24k.Right, Huynh Cong Hieu, and Liu Grace to win the emotional championship.
When Double2T won Rap Viet, controversy erupted. Harmful opinions from the online community claimed his victory was due to "affection," stemming from hasty voting instead of considering the contestants' long journeys. From a certain perspective, the controversy surrounding the rapper wasn't random. In Rap Viet, Double2T excelled at incorporating traditional elements into rap, creating relatable and easily relatable tracks.

Double2T's greatest strength lies in incorporating elements from his own life into his rap music: the distinctive language of ethnic minorities in the highlands, the cultural identity of the highlands, and many other traditional values of Vietnamese art. Double2T will create rap songs with a simple, easy-to-understand flow. And his stage presence will revolve around costumes that reflect Vietnamese cultural identity.
Double2T didn't use his victory as a champion to launch his career in the Vietnamese music scene, which is regrettable. This is because most contestants who enter rap game shows then put everything aside to pursue mainstream success, driven by fame and financial gain. However, from another perspective, Double2T's choice is understandable, as what he brought to the Rap Viet stage didn't show the ambition of a rapper wanting to become a star.
Double2T wants to build the image of a "national" rapper, one who can reach an audience ranging from teenagers and young adults to middle-aged people.
And then, in the last two years, audiences haven't seen Double2T appear at purely entertainment events in the showbiz world. Instead, the rapper has participated in a series of national-level artistic and political events, most notably performing at the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day. Before that, Double2T collaborated with Phuong My Chi at the Grand Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
It's an honor for a young rapper to combine rap verses with traditional patriotic and revolutionary songs. Double2T was almost the only choice to perform these rap verses, with his clear pronunciation and suitable lyric writing style. And especially, Double2T's image was perfect for being a "patriotic" rapper.
The "Youth" concert, organized by Tien Phong Newspaper, took place on June 27th at the F1 racetrack (My Dinh, Hanoi). The concert featured 12 artists including Hoa Minzy, Quang Hung MasterD, Muoi, Buitruonglinh, Double2T, Vo Ha Tram, Dong Hung, CONGB, Ha Myo, Tran Ngoc Anh, and Hoaprox.
Details regarding the scale, ticket distribution methods, and special highlights were announced by the organizers at a press conference on June 15th.
