According to the operator, China National Nuclear Corporation (CGN), the Xing'an wind power project, with an annual electricity production capacity of over 10 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), connected to the grid on December 10th. This is one of China's first large-scale wind and solar power facilities in the desert region.

With 701 wind turbine generators and a combined installed capacity of 3 million kW, the electricity produced by the plant is very environmentally friendly, helping to reduce consumption by approximately 2.96 million tons of standard coal and preventing emissions of approximately 8.02 million tons of carbon dioxide.

"The 3 million kW Xing'an wind power project will provide clean energy to advance China's goal of zero carbon emissions by 2060, encourage socio-economic development, and revitalize rural areas in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region," said Yang Changli, chairman of CGN.

Through this wind power facility, the installed capacity of CGN's new power generation facilities operating in China is expected to reach 45 million kW by the end of the year, including wind power, solar power, solar thermal power, hydrogen energy, etc. More than 570 of CGN's new energy power generation facilities are distributed across 30 provinces and municipalities in China.
