Vietnam's mega-project, the Trong Dong Stadium, is attracting significant attention from international media.

After the project officially commenced, beIN SPORTS USA published a rendering of the stadium with the caption: " The world's largest stadium has just been built in Vietnam, named Trong Dong, with a capacity of approximately 135,000 spectators."

Since the beginning of February, beIN SPORTS USA has consistently published articles about the Trong Dong Stadium. The newspaper asserts that the project will surpass Rungrado 1st of May Stadium (130,000 seats) to become the stadium with the largest capacity on the planet.

"More than just a football stadium, this is also envisioned as a multi-purpose complex serving international-level sports , cultural, and artistic events. The project is expected to become a new destination for major events organized by FIFA, AFC, or the Asian Olympic Council," wrote beIN SPORTS USA .

Previously, newspapers in Southeast Asia and even British newspapers were impressed by the scale of the mega-project. Currently, the three largest stadiums in the world are Rungrado (North Korea), Grand Stade Hassan II (120,000 seats), and Michigan Stadium (approximately 107,000 seats).

The Trong Dong Stadium is the central component of the 9,171-hectare Olympic Sports Urban Area, with a total projected investment of approximately 925,000 billion VND . Spanning 73.3 hectares and boasting a seating capacity of 135,000, Trong Dong is designed to FIFA standards and features the world's largest automatic retractable roof.

The project incorporates a range of modern technologies such as turf replacement within 6-10 hours, a 5G-connected smart seating system, real-time security control, 70% water recycling, and optimized natural ventilation to save energy. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2028.
