A series of seaside tourism festivals have commenced.
With its advantage of a coastline stretching over 3,000 km, beach tourism is a key direction for Vietnam's tourism industry. Holiday activities in Vietnam are often centered around the April 30th - May 1st holiday. Therefore, right before the major holiday week, a series of attractive beach destinations such as Sam Son, Do Son, Cua Lo, etc., hold events and festivals to stimulate tourism.
In mid-April, numerous tourist destinations in Thanh Hoa province inaugurated festivals, attracting visitors. On April 19th, the People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district organized the opening ceremony of the Hai Tien Beach Tourism Festival 2025 with the theme "Hai Tien - Aspiration to Shine".
Continuing the series of festivals themed "Aspiration to Shine," other destinations such as Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa province) are scheduled to open at 8 PM on April 24th, at the beach square of Hai Hoa beach resort.
On April 26th, the coastal city of Sam Son also inaugurated its festival to welcome the 2025 summer tourism season. The opening day will feature special activities such as an art performance, sports competitions, and a culinary space for visitors to explore, enjoy, and have fun.
Besides Thanh Hoa, Nghe An province is also actively preparing for the upcoming beach tourism season. On the evening of April 19th, at Binh Minh Square in Cua Lo, the Vinh City People's Committee inaugurated the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2025 with the theme "Cua Lo - Shining Dawn".
In Ha Tinh province, in preparation for the tourist season, several beaches, such as Thien Cam, are being actively renovated and upgraded by local people and officials. Infrastructure serving tourism is being comprehensively improved; tourism promotion and advertising activities are being prioritized; and efforts to collect and process waste to clean the beaches are being emphasized.
In Ky Anh town (Ha Tinh province), the opening ceremony for beach tourism will be held on April 26th at Ky Ninh beach, featuring a series of attractive cultural and sports activities such as: the art program "Ky Anh Town: Aspiration and Radiance", a beer festival, men's and women's beach tug-of-war competitions, men's volleyball tournaments for communes and wards, etc.
Ensuring the safety of tourists and responding to changing weather conditions.
Every year, beaches in provinces like Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh are always top destinations for people from Northern and Central Vietnam. With convenient transportation routes, beautiful scenery, relatively calm beaches, and many attractive local specialties, tens of thousands of tourists flock there during the summer season. However, to ensure visitor satisfaction, provinces and localities need to meticulously and thoroughly address the safety and safety of tourists, preventing price gouging and exploitation.
During the opening ceremony of the festival at Cua Lo beach, Nghe An province, a parking lot was found to be charging up to 80,000 VND per vehicle, causing public outrage. Upon receiving this information, Mr. Hoang Van Hop, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghi Huong ward (Vinh city, Nghe An province), stated that the local authorities immediately investigated and dealt with the case of charging 80,000 VND per parking session for tourists.
Previously, local authorities organized restaurants, hotels, accommodation establishments, parking lots, etc., in the area to sign commitments to comply with regulations on pricing and quality of service for tourists. Acts of overcharging tourists, which negatively impact the image of Cua Lo as a friendly and hospitable tourist city, will be dealt with severely.
Besides the problem of overcharging and price gouging tourists, tourist destinations in Northern and Central Vietnam need to pay attention to the weather to ensure the safety of visitors. Currently, with climate change, there are unusual monsoon periods, prolonged heatwaves, or storms that affect the tourism experience of visitors.
Experts from the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting have just released their weather forecast for the next 10 days (April 20 - April 29, 2025). Starting from April 23, a weak cold front will affect the area, bringing rain and a drop in temperature. This cold front arriving at the end of the month could potentially cause travelers to postpone their trips or miss out on various tourist experiences.
Furthermore, the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change has predicted that the climate for the three-month period (from April to June 2025) will see widespread heatwaves from around the end of April and beginning of May to June, and extreme weather events at sea such as storms will occur around the end of June.
To ensure tourists have perfect experiences, destinations need to have timely response measures. For example, during hot weather, provinces and localities should step up promotion, organize night and early morning tours, and build more rest areas and shelters along the roadsides, etc., so that tourists can escape the heat.
