According to a report by the Ninh Thuan Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first nine months of 2024, the total number of visitors to the province reached over 3.2 million, an increase of 20% compared to the same period last year, achieving 100.1% of the plan. Of these, an estimated 2.3 million were overnight guests and 904,000 were day visitors. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 3,662 billion VND.
The majority of visitors to Ninh Thuan were domestic tourists, with over 3.11 million arrivals, while international visitors were estimated at 87,000 (a 194% increase compared to the same period last year, reaching 87% of the year's plan).
The pedestrian street in the 16/4 Square area (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City) is crowded with visitors on weekends.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Thuan province, said that generally, in the past nine months, tourism and service activities in the province have been improved in quality, diversified products, and friendly attitudes have always been prioritized by businesses. Safety measures for tourists have also been regularly strengthened, resulting in visitor satisfaction.
In 2024, Ninh Thuan aims to welcome 3.2 million tourists, including 100,000 international visitors. In the future, the province will continue to develop traditional international markets such as Russia and Eastern Europe; focus on attracting tourists from South Korea, China, and India; target high-end tourists from existing markets; and develop new markets with innovative and high-quality tourism products, thereby achieving the aforementioned international tourist attraction target.
In addition, Ninh Thuan is also strengthening linkages and cooperation in tourism development with airlines and other provinces and cities to build attractive tourism programs, tours, and routes to attract tourists.
In December 2024, the 6th Cham Ethnic Culture Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province, in coordination with the provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan, An Giang, Tay Ninh, Quang Nam, Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City, will take place in Ninh Thuan province.
This event is considered an opportunity for the Cham people to showcase the unique and distinctive cultural features of their ethnic group. Nearly 500 artisans, artists, and athletes from 9 provinces and cities are expected to participate, representing over 179,000 Cham people nationwide.
Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Thuan province expressed that the event is also an opportunity to promote the unique cultural features of Ninh Thuan, its strengths in scenic spots, and create favorable opportunities for the public and tourists to participate at any time when visiting the locality.
Currently, Ninh Thuan province has 213 tourist accommodation establishments with more than 4,700 rooms. Authorities regularly issue directives to ensure tourism security, including requiring tourism businesses to focus on food safety and hygiene, fire prevention, and selling at the listed prices, contributing to building a safe, friendly, and attractive tourism environment.
