The An Cựu Ward Youth Union, in coordination with the Ward Police, conducted a campaign to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drugs in schools in the area. |
Visual and lively.
In mid-2025, more than 250 youth union members in An Cuu ward participated in a mock trial of a criminal case concerning the crime of "Organizing the illegal use of narcotics" as stipulated in Article 255 of the Penal Code. The trial was based on a real case that occurred in the locality, with all the roles of judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and defendants... Through this, the trial process was realistically recreated, helping viewers easily visualize the legal consequences of the crime, creating a visual effect and having high educational value.
According to Youth Union member Vu Thanh Van (born in 2004), "Through the trial, I realized that even a moment of lack of understanding or carelessness can lead to big mistakes, affecting my future and my family."
Besides observing the court proceedings, the youth union members also participated in interactive activities and learned about legal knowledge through minigames in the form of quizzes. The questions revolved around legal regulations on drug prevention and control, the responsibility of citizens in reporting crimes, and the penalties for organizing the illegal use of drugs.
An Cựu Ward is considered one of the key areas for security and order in Hue City. It is a densely populated area with students, workers, and freelancers living, studying, and working there. Organizing legal awareness activities in lively and relatable formats, such as mock trials, is seen as an effective solution to raise awareness among young people, who are particularly vulnerable to social ills.
Beyond just promoting drug prevention and control, the City Youth Union also actively disseminated important legal information such as: the Law on Road Traffic Safety, the Law on Military Service, the Law on Youth, the Law on Cybersecurity, etc., in conjunction with promoting the prevention and control of various social evils. In 2025, the entire city organized over 800 awareness campaigns on road traffic laws, drug prevention and control, school violence, drowning prevention, fire prevention and control, and new regulations on administrative penalties for violations in the fields of traffic safety and social security, attracting approximately 60,000 participants including citizens, youth union members, students, and university students.
Disseminating legal knowledge from the grassroots level.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and Secretary of the City Youth Union, in the past period, the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union has directed all levels of the Youth Union to strengthen coordination with local departments, agencies, and organizations to promote the dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations, in conjunction with crime prevention, drug control, human trafficking prevention, and ensuring traffic safety.
Through this, various forms of propaganda have been implemented, such as: thematic activities, experience-sharing forums, law knowledge competitions… and maintaining the effectiveness of "Youth and the Law" clubs, "Youth in Crime Prevention and Control" clubs, and the system of legal libraries at the grassroots level. At the same time, training courses on communication skills regarding crime prevention, drug control, social evils, and human trafficking have been organized, with particular emphasis on mountainous, remote, and disadvantaged areas, using appropriate methods of communication for youth union members and ethnic minorities. In 2025 alone, the youth of the entire city organized nearly 250 communication campaigns, training courses, and workshops; edited, designed, and posted nearly 186 infographics on the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on the youth union's social media platforms, contributing to the dissemination of legal information to a large number of youth union members.
According to Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Secretary of the City Youth Union, in the coming time, the City Youth Union will continue to direct its branches to proactively monitor the situation in residential areas, promptly detect and report prominent issues related to security and order. This will contribute to enhancing the role of the Youth Union in disseminating information and mobilizing members, young people, and citizens to participate in maintaining security and order and stabilizing life in the area. The focus will be on promoting the "3 No's" movement (no trying, no possessing, no using drugs) and implementing activities to build "drug-free communes and wards" in the 2025-2030 period, contributing to preventing and combating drug abuse at the grassroots level.
