Bringing OCOP products to the market.

Thai Binh is a land of many crafts, and therefore each locality has products that have become specialties bearing the name of the land and village. To date, the entire province has 216 products certified as meeting OCOP 3-star and 4-star standards. To help businesses boost product consumption and spread their brands, there is a great need for models that pave the way for OCOP products to reach the market.

Consumers can shop with confidence at the OCOP product showroom and sales point in Thai Binh city, which was selected and built by the Department of Industry and Trade.

In early 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Thai Binh City Farmers' Association, organized the opening of an OCOP product showroom and sales point in Bo Xuyen ward. The store, covering an area of 80 square meters , is filled with over 100 OCOP products from various sectors, ranging from fresh agricultural products and seafood to processed goods and handicrafts from different regions, including over 50 OCOP products from the province. This serves as both a display space and a center connecting local specialty products with consumers. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Chairman of the Thai Binh City Farmers' Association, stated: "The store is one of the important solutions to promote the consumption of OCOP products, helping them become more widely known, and creating opportunities for the province's production facilities to find stable outlets." We hope that OCOP products from Thai Binh will be consumed locally and can reach other provinces and cities nationwide, and even be exported, thereby bringing higher economic benefits to farmers.

At the OCOP product showroom and sales point, consumers can find characteristic products of Thai Binh with clear traceability labels, ensuring food safety and hygiene; from traditional dishes such as sticky rice cakes and rice cakes... to handicrafts, herbs, and clean agricultural products such as AP Phu Hung herbal tea and Tien Chau fish sauce... Ms. Tran Thi Diu, from Hoang Dieu ward (Thai Binh city) - a regular customer at the OCOP store - expressed: "I feel secure buying products here. Not only because of the guaranteed quality, but also because each product carries the rich flavor of my hometown. I often buy products as gifts for relatives and friends far away, and everyone praises them as delicious and to their liking."

According to the survey, customers shopping at the OCOP product showroom and sales point include not only local residents but also tourists and traders from other provinces, creating a good opportunity to spread the brand and increase market share for OCOP products. As a business whose products are showcased at the store, Mr. Vu Xuan Duan, Director of AP Phu Hung Trading Co., Ltd. (Hung Ha), shared: “When our products are introduced at the OCOP product showroom and sales point, we feel very proud. This is a good opportunity for our traditional products to become more widely known not only in Thai Binh province but also in other localities. The store also plays an important role in helping production facilities improve product quality to meet the increasingly high demands of consumers. Especially, thanks to the support of the Department of Industry and Trade and related agencies, besides selling our products, we also receive assistance in improving and innovating designs and packaging, making our products more accessible to modern markets.”

In order to support the movement to build advanced and model new rural areas, especially to assist farmers in building brands and developing markets for OCOP products, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented many practical solutions. Ms. To Thi Huong Lan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: "In the past, we have organized many training courses for OCOP producers on online sales and skills in using e-commerce platforms to sell products. Currently, about 100 OCOP products from Thai Binh are available on e-commerce platforms. In particular, we have built a system of Vietnamese product sales points in the districts, points for introducing and selling OCOP products in the city, and organized many programs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, creating a bridge between producers and consumers, helping Thai Binh's agricultural products to spread more widely." This is an important model for promoting the consumption of agricultural products and OCOP products for the people, protecting the brand of local specialties, and contributing to sustainable economic development for localities in the province.
