Consumers can rest assured when shopping at the OCOP product introduction and sales point in Thai Binh city selected and built by the Department of Industry and Trade.
In early 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Farmers' Association of Thai Binh City to open an OCOP product introduction and sales point in Bo Xuyen Ward. The store has an area of 80m2 , the shelves are filled with more than 100 OCOP products from many industries, from fresh agricultural products, seafood, processed products to handicrafts from regions, including more than 50 OCOP products of the province. This is both a display space and a connection center between typical products of localities and consumers. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Chairman of the City Farmers' Association, said: The store is one of the important solutions to promote the consumption of OCOP products, helping OCOP products to be widely known, while creating opportunities for production facilities in the province to find stable output. We hope that Thai Binh's OCOP products will be consumed locally and can reach far, to other provinces and cities in the country, even exported, thereby bringing higher economic benefits to farmers.
At the OCOP product introduction and sales point, consumers can find typical products of Thai Binh with clear traceability stamps, ensuring food hygiene and safety; from rustic dishes such as: green rice, fish cake... to handicraft products, herbs, clean agricultural products such as: AP Phu Hung herbal tea, Tien Chau fish sauce... Ms. Tran Thi Diu, Hoang Dieu ward (Thai Binh city) - a consumer who regularly buys products at the OCOP store expressed: I feel secure when buying products here. Not only because of the guaranteed quality but also because each product has the strong flavor of my hometown. I often buy products as gifts for relatives and friends who live far away, everyone praises them as delicious and suitable for their taste.
According to the survey, customers who come to shop at the OCOP product introduction and sales point are not only local people but also tourists and traders from other provinces, creating a good opportunity to spread the brand and increase market share for OCOP products. As a business with products introduced at the store, Mr. Vu Xuan Duan, Director of AP Phu Hung Trading Company Limited (Hung Ha) shared: When the product is brought to the OCOP product introduction and sales point, we feel very proud. This is a good opportunity for our traditional products to be better known not only in Thai Binh province but also in other localities. The store also plays an important role in helping production facilities improve product quality to meet the increasing needs of consumers. In particular, thanks to the support of the Department of Industry and Trade and related agencies, in addition to selling products, we are also assisted in improving and innovating designs and packaging to help products easily access the modern market.
In order to accompany the movement of building advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas, especially supporting farmers in building brands and developing markets for consuming OCOP products, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented many practical solutions. Ms. To Thi Huong Lan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: In the past, we have organized many training courses for OCOP entities on online sales and skills in using e-commerce platforms to consume products. Currently, about 100 OCOP products of Thai Binh are available on e-commerce platforms. In particular, we have built a system of Vietnamese points of sale in districts, points of introduction and sale of OCOP products in the city and organized many programs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, creating a bridge between producers and consumers, helping Thai Binh's agricultural products to be spread more widely. This is an important model to promote the consumption of agricultural products and OCOP products for people, protect the brand of local specialties and contribute to sustainable economic development for localities in the province.
