The main event of Folk Tales is scheduled to take place on May 29-31 and June 5-7, with the highlight being a light art performance inspired by four typical Vietnamese folk tales: 'The Dragon and the Fairy', 'The Legend of the Watermelon', 'Saint Giong', and 'Son Tinh - Thuy Tinh'.
In addition to the main event, the project also organizes accompanying events for children at art centers in downtown Hanoi . Here, children will learn about Vietnamese folk tales and freely recreate those stories from their own perspectives. Furthermore, the artworks created by the children in these accompanying events will be digitized and projected live in the X Space Immersive art space. These artworks will become part of a multi-sensory performance space, connecting children's imaginations with modern lighting technology.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Viet Hung, the project's professional advisor, believes that the familiarity of folk fairy tales also creates pressure to present them in a fresh, creative, and more appealing way.
By applying modern lighting technology to vividly recreate familiar folk tales, viewers can easily access and appreciate traditional culture, and it promises to be an attractive cultural tourism product for international visitors to Hanoi.
