Nowadays, accessing the internet is quite easy. Children can play games at home using smartphones, tablets, and laptops without having to go to arcades like in previous years. This leads many children to lose control of their playing time and gradually become addicted to online games. This situation is partly the fault of parents, who spoil their children too much without considering the long-term consequences. A neighbor of mine told me that her brother has two sons. The first one became addicted to games because his wife spoiled him, often letting him borrow her phone to play games. Imitating the virtual games, one day the boy played the role of a knight going to fight his friends and got caught by the police. Now, with the second son, she's doing the same thing, even buying him a tablet to play games.
Some parents fear their children will go astray outside the home and prefer to keep them indoors. As a result, children are left with only computers and smartphones, gradually leading to gaming addiction. Conversely, many parents forbid their children from accessing online entertainment games. This only stimulates children's curiosity and determination to explore. In the digital age, such prohibitions sometimes have the opposite effect. Therefore, instead of banning, parents should supervise and regulate their children's internet usage time.
Game addiction in children is very dangerous, easily leading to a lack of concentration and declining academic performance. Not to mention the consequences of many children falling into social vices and breaking the law simply because of game addiction. Therefore, parents should control and supervise their children, preventing them from becoming addicted to virtual games. Parents should dedicate time to ensuring their children have a fun, safe, and enriching summer.
