EVN has a new general director.

EVNHANOI Chairman Nguyen Anh Tuan has been transferred and appointed as General Director of EVN, replacing Tran Dinh Nhan, who resigned at his own request.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN today signed a decision appointing Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI), as General Director of EVN for a 5-year term. The decision takes effect from tomorrow (December 1st).

On the same day, the Committee for Capital Management at Enterprises also decided to appoint Mr. Tuan as a member of the EVN Board of Directors for a fixed term of 5 years, starting from December 1st.

Mr. Tuan was born in 1967 in Hanoi. He is an electrical engineer with over 30 years of experience in the industry, holds a Master's degree in Business Administration, and has advanced political theory qualifications. Before becoming the new General Director of EVN, Mr. Tuan held many important positions, such as Head of Planning Department, Deputy General Director, General Director, and has served as Chairman of EVNHANOI from 2013 to the present.

The replacement of EVN's General Director and the restructuring of the group's leadership were made at the request of the Standing Committee of the Government , in the context of several previous leaders being reprimanded for their responsibility in electricity supply, leading to power shortages in the North in May and June 2023.

Previously, at the end of October, during the review and disciplinary process, the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises considered and sought opinions from competent authorities regarding the reassignment to other duties or retirement of EVN General Director Tran Dinh Nhan at his request. Mr. Nhan will retire from December 1st. Prior to leaving the CEO position at EVN, Mr. Nhan had held this position for nearly 5 years.
