FIFA: Seeing the Spring Blossom means Spring has arrived.

The Vietnamese national team hosted Myanmar in their final group stage match of the ASEAN Cup 2024 (AFF Cup), fielding naturalized striker Nguyen Xuan Son.

More than anyone else, the Brazilian-born striker was incredibly excited to wear the red jersey with the five-pointed gold star on his chest.

The anticipation quickly turned into an explosion of talent for the striker from Nam Dinh Green Steel Club. Xuan Son shone brightly with a brace of goals and two assists in Vietnam's 5-0 victory.

Earlier, Vi Hao opened the scoring, while the other two goals were scored by captain Quang Hai and substitute striker Tien Linh, sending the "Golden Star Warriors" into the semi-finals as group B winners.

Immediately after the resounding victory of the Vietnamese national team, the World Football Federation (FIFA) fanpage sent a humorous congratulatory message to Xuan Son.

FIFA posted the status update: "Seeing Xuan Son means spring has arrived." This pun, combined with the upcoming spring season in Vietnam, draws a parallel to the striker's name, Xuan Son.

Meanwhile, SofaScore awarded Xuan Son a perfect score of 10.0 after his incredibly impressive performance against Myanmar. The Vietnamese national team's newcomer was also voted Man of the Match by the tournament organizers.

Moreover, Xuan Son has become the first naturalized player in history to score for the Vietnamese national team. With two semi-final matches against Singapore ahead, Xuan Son still has many opportunities to increase his goal tally for the team.
