While other members of the Hanoi Police FC celebrated on the podium receiving their V-League 2023 medals, Filip Nguyen focused his attention on the crowd of spectators in the distance. Immediately after the team representative received the trophy, the goalkeeper, born in 1992, ran outside, eagerly searching for his wife and children to share the joy.

Filip Nguyễn held his son, draped the gold medal around the boy's neck, and stood for an interview before returning to the awards area.

" It's fantastic that Hanoi Police FC won the championship. This result is very meaningful because it's my first trophy with my new team ," Filip Nguyen shared.

Filip Nguyễn joined Hanoi Police FC in the second phase of the 2023 V-League. He immediately took over the starting goalkeeper position from Patrik Lê Giang and showed consistent performance. In the final match of the season against Thanh Hóa FC, the goalkeeper made crucial saves that helped Hanoi Police FC secure one point.

Filip Nguyễn is confident he will achieve much in the future with his new team. He said: " My contract with the team still has 3 years left. Therefore, there is still a lot ahead ."

Recently, coach Philippe Troussier affirmed that Filip Nguyen would be a quality addition to the Vietnamese national team. However, he is currently in the process of obtaining Vietnamese citizenship. Regarding this, Filip Nguyen shared: " Of course, I strive for the opportunity to wear the Vietnamese national team jersey, but right now I want to enjoy the joy of winning the championship with Hanoi Police FC, and then I will think about the future ."

In the final match of the season, Filip Nguyen and his teammates faced Thanh Hoa FC. Hanoi Police FC took the lead in the first half but were pegged back in the second. Nevertheless, one point from this match was enough for the police team to win the V-League 2023 championship.
