Prolonged heavy rains caused historic floods in the Central region, cutting off many areas and seriously affecting people's lives. FPT Corporation has urgently implemented many practical support activities to promptly support the community.

FPT Hue welcomes people to charge their devices and take shelter in the flood zone

Amidst the historic flood with rainfall in Hue City reaching more than 1,085mm in 24 hours, FPT opened the dormitories of the Primary, Secondary and High Schools to receive people, especially the elderly and children, for shelter.

The school proactively prepared instant noodles, eggs, drinking water and other essentials before the heavy rain, and checked the safety of electricity, water and fire exits to welcome people in a short time. The boarding area was checked for safety of electricity, water and fire exits to ensure the ability to welcome many people in a short time.

Authorities took people in heavily flooded areas to take shelter at FPT School Hue.

In the situation of widespread power outages and communication loss due to floodwaters and heavy rains, FPT also opened its headquarters, some locations have safe generators so that people can charge their devices, maintain communication and connect with outside support.

In addition, in Da Nang , FPT staff members have withdrawn funds and contributed money to buy necessities, personally packing hundreds of relief gifts right at the FPT Complex office. When floodwaters rose, isolating many areas, the staff coordinated with the authorities to divide the goods into small packages, tightly tied each package to put on drones and canoes, and carried out "flights of kindness" to supply people in the flood zone.

Long Chau provides emergency support for medicine and medical supplies

Faced with the severe consequences of prolonged floods in the Central provinces, FPT has quickly deployed many emergency support activities, joining hands with people to overcome difficulties. On October 31, Long Chau pharmacy chain donated 1 ton of medicine and medical supplies to the Hue City Department of Health, with many types of treatment drugs and necessary medical supplies, helping people prevent epidemics after the flood.

On November 2, FPT continued to support 3 tons of medicine and medical supplies for people in flooded areas in Da Nang and Quang Ngai. Two tons of goods were sent to Da Nang and one ton to Quang Ngai, including many common medicines, vitamins, antiseptic solutions, and many other medical supplies to take care of health in the context of many areas still being deeply flooded, having power outages and lacking medical supplies.

FPT donates medicine to support people in Hue city affected by storms and floods

The shipments were prepared and transported overnight, carrying worries, understanding and affection from far away to the Central region. In parallel with the emergency relief activities, the company will continue to coordinate with local health agencies to implement health examination and care programs and support the community during the recovery period after natural disasters.

Campaign "Overcoming floods with compatriots" to rebuild schools

Not only stopping at providing quick and timely support, with the desire to rebuild affected schools, helping teachers and students return to class soon, the Hope Fund (co-founded by FPT and VnExpress) launched the campaign "Overcoming floods with compatriots", with the support of FPT staff and FPT People for the Community Fund.

Recently, the campaign has implemented the first support phase for 15 schools in Tuyen Quang, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An. The campaign will continue to be implemented in Thai Nguyen, Lang Son and expanded to many other localities, with a total budget of more than 9 billion VND.

The campaign "Overcoming floods with compatriots" was launched by the Hope Foundation.

From North to South, the hearts of FPT employees have turned to the Central region, promptly contributing to helping people overcome difficulties, contributing to restoring normal life after natural disasters, spreading the spirit of "mutual love".
