GAC Hyptec A800 from 1.1 billion in China, "rival" Mercedes S-Class
The highlight of GAC's 5.3-meter-long Hyptec A800 EREV luxury sedan is its 6-meter-long light strip and Huawei technology.

The new GAC Hyptec A800 2025 flagship smart sedan, co-developed with Huawei, was officially launched at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show. To reiterate, Hyptec is a high-end electric vehicle brand under GAC, which debuted in 2023 under the name “Hyper”. In terms of design, the GAC Hyptec A800 has a fastback style, combined with multi-spoke wheels, hidden door handles and a roof-mounted hood to support advanced driving assistance capabilities. At the rear, the taillights consist of three light strips and a tail badge labeled “A800” combined with the Huawei ADS logo.
GAC Hyptec A800 has dimensions of 5130/ 1966/1500mm (length/width/height), wheelbase of 3020mm, positioned as a mid-size to large sedan. Power comes from an EREV hybrid powertrain (electric, but the gasoline engine acts as a generator to recharge the battery to extend range.
The GAC Hyptec A800's 1.5-liter turbocharged engine has a maximum output of 118kW (158hp), combined with a lithium iron phosphate battery. The maximum speed is 185km/h, according to Chinese registration information. According to GAC, the car will feature interior lighting systems that extend up to 6 meters in the cabin and driving assistance technologies developed by Huawei. At this point, the remaining detailed specifications of the powertrain and interior have yet to be revealed.
It is expected that this model will cost around 300,000 yuan (1.1 billion VND) and will officially enter the market in the fourth quarter of this year. Video : Watch the Hyptec A800 EREV large luxury sedan in China.
