Sleep tourism is predicted to be a popular trend in the future. According to him, nearly 67% of Vietnamese tourists are looking for a vacation just to sleep well, showing that Vietnam's tourism industry needs to change, and accommodation establishments need to provide more amenities and convenient services to bring tourists vacation. Rest healthy and relax.
Sleepover travel was also pointed out as one of the biggest travel trends in 2024.
On March 21, TechRadar - a publication of Future publisher in the UK - shared the content of a report on travel trends conducted by Hilton Hotel Group, based on a survey of 3 people from 10.000 countries.
The report shows that the top reason tourists want to travel is "recharge and rest". Sleepover travel and the opportunity to get a good night's sleep are driving travelers' vacation choices – from how they pack to their hotel choices.
Hilton pointed out that guests no longer care much about swimming pools, restaurants or convenient transportation to attractions, everything almost revolves around the bed. 27% of survey respondents said that if they travel to relax, they need a good mattress. Luxury hotels often have high-quality mattresses in the rooms. In addition to mattresses, 18% admitted they bring pillows when traveling. The report suggests that people with high requirements for pillows should consider the "pillow menu" of 5-star hotels to freely use pillows to their liking.
Sleep expert Dr. Rebecca Robbins partnered with the group to create a relaxing vacation in Maui, Hawaii. Robbins wants to apply the science of sleep to everyday life, whether traveling or at home.
In addition to spa services that help reduce jet lag, programs during this vacation also include many lectures on the science of rest, sleep mechanisms, and sleep disorders. Vacations also provide healthy, sleep-supportive meals. After the trip, Robbins hopes that visitors will have more knowledge and practical experience to improve their daily sleeping habits.
Booking also provides a list of suggestions for destinations with good air quality, delicious and rich cuisine, pleasant climate, and beautiful natural scenery to help guests fall asleep easily. Topping the list of suggestions are Da Lat, which has cool temperatures all year round, fresh air, delicious food, and Da Nang with many quiet resorts providing convenient services and a climate near the sea. The remaining 4 destinations on the list are Tam Dao, Suzhou China, Bali Indonesia and Koh Samui Thailand.
