Attending the event were Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Cao Phuc, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Y Ngoc, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Luong Kim Son, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Technology Parks; former provincial leaders; representatives of leaders from various departments and agencies; and more than 200 intellectuals, experts, and scientists.
Speaking at the meeting and honoring ceremony, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Y Ngoc expressed gratitude to the generations of intellectuals, scientists, and science and technology officials who have been accompanying the development of Quang Ngai province. He also emphasized that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are becoming important driving forces for growth and enhancing the competitiveness of the locality. In recent years, research, application, and transfer of science and technology in the province have seen many positive changes, gradually aligning with the requirements of socio-economic development and serving the people and businesses. In the coming period, Quang Ngai province will continue to prioritize the development of digital infrastructure and data, promote the application of new technologies, support businesses in technological innovation, develop high-quality human resources, and build an innovation ecosystem. At the same time, it will create more favorable conditions for scientific research, innovative startups, and technology transfer in the province.
At the meeting, delegates also reviewed the outstanding achievements of the province's scientific and technological intellectual workforce in recent years. Currently, Quang Ngai has more than 48,000 people with college degrees or higher, over 115 PhDs, more than 3,500 Master's degree holders, and thousands of intellectuals working in various fields. This intellectual workforce has made many important contributions to research, technology transfer, promoting innovation, and socio-economic development of the province.
On this occasion, provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate intellectuals on Vietnam's Science, Technology and Innovation Day, May 18th; and also awarded certificates of merit and honored 28 individuals who achieved the title of Outstanding Science and Technology Intellectuals of Quang Ngai Province in 2026.
