From July 1st, 2026, the basic salary will be adjusted upwards from 2.34 million VND to 2.53 million VND per month, leading to a corresponding increase in various social insurance benefits.

According to Vietnam Social Insurance, the one-time allowance for childbirth or adoption of a child under 6 months old will increase from VND 4.68 million to VND 5.06 million; the funeral allowance will increase from VND 23.4 million to VND 25.3 million. In addition, the monthly survivor's allowance for each dependent will increase to VND 1.265 million/month, and to VND 1.771 million/month in cases where there is no one directly caring for the deceased. According to the 2024 Social Insurance Law, during the period before the abolition of the base salary, the reference level for mandatory social insurance contributions will continue to be determined based on the base salary.

Therefore, from July 1, 2026, the minimum salary used as the basis for mandatory social insurance contributions will be 2.53 million VND/month and the maximum will be 50.6 million VND/month.
