From June 1st, E10 bioethanol fuel – a blend of 10% ethanol and 90% traditional gasoline – will be widely available nationwide. However, many gas stations belonging to the Vietnam National Petroleum Group have already completely switched to E10 bioethanol fuel.
Most people expressed enthusiasm, actively participated in the experience, and noted many positive signs. The transition to using biofuels is an important policy aimed at reducing emissions of environmentally polluting gases, limiting dependence on fossil fuels, contributing to ensuring national energy security, and promoting green and sustainable economic development.
Authorities also encourage people to actively use E10 bioethanol fuel and to promptly report and make suggestions to the authorities when they discover gas stations showing signs of violations such as selling fuel of the wrong type, hoarding, arbitrarily stopping sales, not displaying prices, or committing fraud regarding quality and measurement through the hotline.
Currently, ethanol-blended gasoline is used in more than 60 countries and territories worldwide . In many countries, E10 gasoline is considered an important stepping stone in the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources. The US, EU, Thailand, Brazil, and others have all widely used E10 gasoline for many years.
