Users of Google apps and services experienced issues on June 11th as the Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) assistant malfunctioned.
According to Google, the company's engineering teams have begun implementing a fix. In an update at 3:19 AM on June 11th (Vietnam time), Google stated that most users are no longer experiencing the issue. However, the company has not yet disclosed the root cause of the problem.
Google confirmed the outage at 3 AM on the same day on its service status tracking page. The issue affected Gemini in Google Workspace – the online work suite that includes Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and the Gemini app.

The issue was reported across multiple platforms, including macOS, web browsers, iOS, Android, and Gemini in Chrome. Some users received an error message "something went wrong" along with error codes 1099 and 1076.
According to the outage tracking site DownDetector, as of 3 AM, there had been over 1,600 reports related to unusual Google Gemini performance. The number of reports decreased throughout the day, but the total number of affected users is currently unknown.
Gemini is Google's AI assistant, increasingly integrated into the company's work and search services. Therefore, this incident could affect a segment of users who rely on Google's tools for their daily work.
