Pork prices suddenly dropped.

After a period of consistently high pork prices since the Lunar New Year of 2025, live pig prices have suddenly dropped in the last two days. Currently, nationwide, the average price of live pigs is 69,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 600 VND/kg compared to the end of last week.

According to a representative of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, the current price of grade 1 live pigs is 74,000 VND/kg; pigs with more fat are sold at 65,000 VND/kg. The average price of live pigs sold by the company is 69,000 VND/kg. Many pork traders said that the decrease in live pig prices on the market may be due to the large influx of imported pigs or a decrease in consumer demand for pork due to high market prices.
