* The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions decreased slightly.
Specifically, Dak Lak province adjusted down 1,000 VND/kg to 55,000 VND/kg - the lowest in the region.
Traders in localities including Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan traded at 56,000 VND/kg.
The remaining localities continue to purchase live pigs at 57,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the purchase price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 55,000 - 57,000 VND/kg.

Live pigs in localities including Long An, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre were traded at 56,000 VND/kg. Other provinces and cities purchased live pigs at prices ranging from 57,000 - 58,000 VND/kg.

Commenting on the reason for the drop in pork prices, the Southeast Livestock Association said that the business situation of enterprises has not improved, many places have reduced workers, so the purchasing power of industrial kitchens has decreased.
However, according to the Association, pork prices will rise in the fourth quarter of this year, when students return to school. In addition, the increased demand for products for the Tet holiday will help prices of this commodity rise.
