Rice prices today, April 10th: Slight fluctuations.

Today, April 10, 2025, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained relatively stable. Market volume was low, with some raw rice and fresh paddy prices showing mixed trends compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of raw 5451 rice has decreased by 50 VND/kg, fluctuating between 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg; raw OM 380 rice fluctuates between 7,800 - 7,900 VND/kg; raw IR 504 rice fluctuates between 7,900 - 8,000 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice fluctuates between 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice fluctuates between 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the prices of these items range from approximately 6,600 to 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice (grades 3-4) has increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,650 and 6,800 VND/kg; the price of bran fluctuates between 8,000 and 9,000 VND/kg.

Observations in various localities today show a fairly large supply, but slower purchasing activity, with warehouses buying slowly and factories selling more, resulting in stable prices. In An Giang , the supply is fairly large, but buying and selling transactions are slow, and rice prices are relatively stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is moderate, warehouses are trading slowly, and prices remain firm.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), the supply is steady, warehouses are slow to buy, and prices remain stable. At An Cu (Cai Be district, Tien Giang province ), the supply is also steady, warehouses are even slower to buy, and prices are less volatile.

At retail markets, rice prices remain relatively stable compared to yesterday. Currently, regular rice has increased by 500 VND/kg, fluctuating between 15,500 and 16,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price at 28,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice fluctuates between 20,000 and 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates between 18,000 and 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 22,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice fluctuates around 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of fresh OM 5451 rice has increased by 200 VND, fluctuating between 6,200 and 6,400 VND/kg; the price of fresh IR 50404 rice fluctuates between 5,800 and 6,000 VND/kg; the price of fresh Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates between 6,800 and 7,000 VND/kg; the price of fresh OM 380 rice fluctuates between 5,800 and 6,000 VND/kg; the price of fresh OM 18 rice fluctuates between 6,800 and 6,900 VND/kg; and the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuates between 6,550 and 6,750 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today indicate limited supply and slow trading. In Soc Trang, the supply of fresh rice is scarce; traders are inquiring about purchasing it for market goods, but there is limited supply available. In Bac Lieu, rice has been largely reserved, and the prices of fragrant rice and ST rice remain stable.

In An Giang, supply has decreased significantly, fragrant rice prices remain stable, and trading is slower. In Can Tho, supply is dwindling, demand is low, and trading is slow due to high rice prices.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today showed slight fluctuations compared to the middle of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 5% broken rice is $399/ton, 25% broken rice is $369/ton (down $1/ton); and 100% broken rice is $317/ton (up $1/ton).
