Currently, the price of straw mushrooms sold by farmers to traders is increasing by about 10,000-15,000 VND/kg compared to previous months.
Specifically, the price of grade 1 straw mushrooms (bud mushrooms) ranges from 55,000-65,000 VND/kg, while grade 2 and 3 straw mushrooms (opened mushrooms) cost 50,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, retail prices at markets range from 80,000-100,000 VND/kg (photo).
According to many mushroom farmers, the reason for the increase in straw mushroom prices is due to reduced supply and high demand for straw mushrooms.
At this time, many localities have finished harvesting rice, reducing the supply of straw. Simultaneously, due to people hoarding straw for livestock, the price of straw has increased sharply, leading to a reduction in the area used for straw mushroom cultivation and a decrease in mushroom production.
