Domestic gold price this afternoon

The price of SJC gold was listed by Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) at VND84.8 million/tael (buy) and VND86.8 million/tael (sell), unchanged from the closing price of yesterday's trading session. The difference between the buying price and the selling price is VND2.0 million.
DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold today at VND84.8 million/tael (buy) and VND86.8 million/tael (sell). No change compared to the closing price of yesterday's trading session. The difference between the buying price and the selling price is VND2.0 million.
At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey was listed at VND85.2 million/tael and the selling price was VND86 million/tael. Thus, compared to yesterday's session, the buying price decreased by VND100,000/tael and the selling price decreased by VND300,000/tael.
The price of SJC gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau and Bao Tin Manh Hai Co., Ltd. was also traded by the enterprise at VND84.6 million/tael (buy) and VND86.6 million/tael (sell). This unit decreased by VND200,000/tael for both buying and selling compared to the closing price of yesterday's trading session.
The group of state-owned joint stock commercial banks (Vietcombank, Vietinbank, Agribank , BIDV) listed the price of SJC gold bars at 86.6 million VND/tael.

Regarding ring gold, the current buying price of SJC 9999 ring gold is 84.7 million VND/tael and the selling price is 86.5 million VND/tael, down 100,000 VND/tael for both buying and selling compared to the end of yesterday's trading session.
For Hung Thinh Vuong 9999 gold ring (DOJI), the buying price decreased to 85.1 million VND/tael and the selling price decreased to 86.4 million VND/tael, down 300,000 VND per tael for buying and 200,000 VND per tael for selling compared to yesterday.
With a similar decrease, Bao Tin Minh Chau round gold rings dropped to 85.2 - 86.6 million VND/tael. However, this is still the highest price that gold rings have achieved on the market in the morning trading session on January 13.
PNJ plain gold rings were bought at VND85 million/tael and sold at VND86.4 million/tael. The recorded decrease was VND400,000/tael for both buying and selling.
On the contrary, Mi Hong Company increased the selling price of 999 gold rings to 86 million VND/tael, an increase of 200,000 VND compared to the end of last week. On the buying side, this gold shop continued to keep the price unchanged at 84.7 million VND.

The spot gold price on the world market this afternoon (January 13) stood at 2,684.3 USD/ounce. The futures gold price was at 2,713.6 USD/ounce.
In a recent interview with Kitco News, Kathy Lien – Director of FX Strategy at BK Asset Management and co-founder of BKForex.com said:
“I think the gold price action reflects what is happening in the equity markets, where traders are worried about rising US bond yields and the implications for borrowing costs and economic growth. If the Fed doesn’t cut rates sooner this year, it will cause more pain down the road,” she said.
Although gold prices are expected to remain volatile in 2025 due to the impact of US monetary policy and demand for safe-haven assets, Ms. Lien said she is still looking for trading opportunities on the upside.
“Overall, I am bullish on gold this year and will look for buying opportunities rather than selling,” she said.
Meanwhile, Nitesh Shah, head of commodity and macroeconomic research at WisdomTree Europe, said gold is an excellent portfolio diversifier because it allows investors to improve returns while effectively controlling risk.
“36% of the 800 professional investors surveyed said diversification was the main reason they held gold. Our analysis shows that gold has a low correlation with both stocks and bonds, so it makes a strong contribution to diversification efforts,” the expert said.
