As part of the Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024, the first Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival 2024 will showcase 77 typical specialties from 11 districts, towns, and cities, meticulously prepared and presented attractively. The festival will be held on a provincial scale over three days (March 22-24) in the Thi Nai Bay area, Quy Nhon City (Dong Da Street, from Phan Dinh Phung Street to Tran Hoan Street). The festival will include a buffet themed "77 Unique and Exquisite Dishes of Binh Dinh" on March 22; the opening ceremony on March 23; and over 50 food stalls, OCOP (One Commune One Product) stalls from the province, some neighboring provinces, and international and regional organizations serving food and drinks to tourists and locals. In addition, there will be performances by Michelin-starred chefs and several other chefs from Binh Dinh province and neighboring provinces. One of the highlights of the festival is the buffet, showcasing 77 typical delicious dishes of Binh Dinh. According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Sam, Chairman of the Provincial Culinary Culture Association, these dishes embody the rich traditional culinary culture and distinctive flavors of each district, town, and city. Besides directly experiencing the delicious food, delegates and visitors will also receive information from volunteers regarding the origin, preparation methods, and nutritional value of the dishes.

“The festival activities are livestreamed on the province's digital platforms and social media. Binh Dinh's culinary culture is unique in that it showcases both aspects: food (drinks) and beverages (food). At the Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Festival, visitors can not only enjoy many delicious dishes but also some unique drinks, including Bau Da wine, one of the four specialties honored and certified by the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association. Hopefully, this festival will inspire more people to appreciate Binh Dinh's specialties, contributing to the further spread of the essence of Binh Dinh's culinary culture,” Mr. Nguyen Hoang Sam shared. The exhibition area showcasing and processing cuisine and OCOP products from Binh Dinh and other localities and units features 39 food stalls from 12 units outside the province (Hue, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Nghe An, Long An, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City, Soc Trang, Lam Dong, Da Nang, Southern Vietnamese cuisine and Southeastern Vietnamese cuisine), 1 international unit (Yongsan district, South Korea), 9 People's Committees of districts, towns and cities in the province, 13 units under the Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Association and 4 restaurants and hotels in the province… Within the framework of the festival, there will be performances by Michelin chef, Central Vietnamese culinary expert Nguyen Ngoc Duy and chef Ho Thi Thu Hien from the Binh Dinh Culinary Culture Association. In addition, many units in the province have registered to showcase dishes such as: Jellyfish salad with Binh Dinh fermented pork, bamboo-grilled chicken, Tay Son rice paper rolls, cocktail making (ocean tuna sashimi), dishes made from Thai An Song Than vermicelli, stir-fried bamboo shoots with smoked meat, Tay Son beef jerky, Mang Linh artichoke vermicelli, Korean Kimbap making demonstration… “The festival creates opportunities for exchange and learning among restaurant, hotel, and food service businesses in the province, thereby improving the quality of service and the cultural and culinary business activities in the province's tourism industry. Besides, the festival attracts the participation of many food establishments from outside the province, creating opportunities for exchange, learning experiences, and understanding more about the characteristics, strengths, similarities, and differences in culinary tourism between provinces and cities nationwide. From there, it further affirms the strengths of Binh Dinh cuisine, shaping the brand and image of delicious Binh Dinh dishes in the hearts of tourists. "Both domestic and international, we aim to better serve the community and attract more tourists in the future," said Mr. Tran Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Tourism.

Among the four signature dishes of Binh Dinh province that have been honored and certified by the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA) (including Bau Da wine, Cho Huyen spring rolls, thorny leaf sticky rice cakes, and shrimp spring rolls), two dishes, Cho Huyen spring rolls and thorny leaf sticky rice cakes, are specialties of Tuy Phuoc district; therefore, the district is very excited about the festival. Chairman of the Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee, Huynh Nam, said: “The district has registered a food stall to introduce the specialty Cho Huyen spring rolls and an OCOP (One Commune One Product) stall of Loc Tin Organic Agricultural Cooperative (Quang Tin village, Phuoc Loc commune).” Culinary demonstrations by famous chefs from Vietnam and abroad promise to delight diners, tourists, and food lovers in Binh Dinh, contributing to the glory of the province's culinary culture. Culinary artist Nguyen Ngoc Duy, Vice President of the Provincial Culinary Culture Association, enthusiastically shared: “I will perform two acts: making shrimp pancakes and preparing and cooking tuna noodle soup. I hope to please everyone.”
