On May 12th, information from the family of People's Artist Tuong Vy indicated that after a period of serious illness and treatment in Da Nang City, the artist passed away at 2 PM on May 11th, at the age of 87. The wake will be held at 7 AM on May 14th at the Funeral Home of Military Hospital 17 (3 Nguyen Phi Khanh Street, Da Nang City). The funeral service will take place at 12 PM on the same day, and the remains will be interred at the Military Region 5 Cemetery.
Singer Ngoc Anh (from the 3A trio, former daughter-in-law of People's Artist Tuong Vy) shared a touching message on her personal Facebook page: "Thank you, dear mother, for always remembering me and your grandchild. We couldn't come back to say goodbye, but we will visit you often, just as I have been visiting you these past few days, Mom."
Lieutenant Colonel - People's Artist Tuong Vy, whose full name is Truong Tuong Vy, was born in 1938 in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province.
In 1954, she enlisted in the army and became a nurse at Military Hospital 108. In 1956, she transferred to the General Political Department's Song and Dance Troupe and began studying vocal music.
People's Artist Tuong Vy is famous for many songs such as: "Tieng dan Ta Lu" (composed by Huy Thuc), "Em la hoa Po lang" (composed by Duc Minh), "Nguoi con gai song La " (composed by Doan Nho)... In particular, with the song "Co gai vot chong" (composed by Hoang Hiep), People's Artist Tuong Vy is considered the best singer because of her soaring voice and very difficult singing technique.
People's Artist Tuong Vy, famous for her rendition of the song "The Girl Sharpening Bamboo Stakes," has passed away at the age of 86.

For her contributions, she was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 1984 and the title of People's Artist in 1993.
People's Artist Tuong Vy was awarded the Third-Class Military Merit Order, the Third-Class Labor Order, the Second-Class Combat Merit Order, and the First-Class Resistance Order by the State. People's Artist Tuong Vy is also one of the rare artists whose name is included in the Vietnamese Military Encyclopedia (published in 1996).
People's Artist Tuong Vy was a private person who avoided the media. It is known that in her final days, the artist lived in Da Nang City. She passed away after a period of treatment for a serious illness.
