In the spring of 2025, the Center for Applied Science and Technology and Innovation (under the Department of Science and Technology) will develop a model for growing King 6 glutinous rice variety on a scale of 25 hectares in two communes: Dinh Son (Cam Giang) and Quoc Tuan (Nam Sach). This rice variety is supplied by ADI Agricultural Investment, Trade and Development Joint Stock Company (Hoang Mai, Hanoi).

Field test results showed that, compared to the control rice variety, glutinous rice 415, the King 6 glutinous rice variety has a significant advantage in its resistance to many major pests and diseases. Under the weather conditions of the 2025 spring crop, the control glutinous rice 415 suffered severe leaf blast, requiring farmers to spray 2-3 times per season. Conversely, the King 6 glutinous rice variety was not infected with leaf blast, neck blast, or bacterial leaf blight.
Several other indicators, such as the total number of grains per ear, the number of filled grains per ear, and the weight of 1,000 grains, were higher for the King 6 glutinous rice variety compared to the control variety. The average yield of King 6 glutinous rice reached 68.2 quintals/ha, nearly 4.4 quintals/ha higher than the control variety.

The King 6 glutinous rice variety also has good lodging resistance, ensuring yield before storms and heavy rains.

Evaluating the economic efficiency in the spring crop of 2025, the King 6 glutinous rice variety helped farmers earn a profit of over 6 million VND/ha higher compared to the control rice variety.
