According to Mr. Dinh Van Chac, Director of the Cam Mountain Tourist Area Management Board, Cam Mountain is a unique area, serving as both a spiritual and ecological tourist destination while also having a large local population. Motorbike transportation plays an essential role in daily life. However, in light of the requirements for sustainable tourism development, traffic safety and order management need to be strengthened and ensured in accordance with the law. “Following the directives of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, we are coordinating with the Cam Mountain Commune People's Committee and the Provincial Police Traffic Police Department (PC08) to implement many comprehensive solutions to resolutely restore order and traffic safety in the tourist area, especially at the mountain peak. We are strictly dealing with individuals engaged in passenger transportation who violate regulations on traffic safety and cause disorder in the tourist area,” Mr. Dinh Van Chac stated.
The Cam Mountain Tourist Area Management Board, in coordination with relevant units, launched intensive patrol and inspection campaigns to strictly handle common violations in the tourist area such as unauthorized modifications to vehicle structures; carrying more passengers than permitted; and not wearing helmets. Authorities also focused on inspecting and handling vehicles that did not meet technical safety standards; and those operating outside their designated routes or permitted areas.
As the leading unit involved in restoring order and traffic safety in the Nui Cam Tourist Area, the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police has instructed each officer and soldier to actively carry out their duties and strictly handle cases of violations of safety regulations. Lieutenant Colonel Truong Minh The - Deputy Head of Chau Phu Traffic Police Station, Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, informed: “In the past, the security and order situation in the Nui Cam Tourist Area has been complex. There have been cases of individuals engaged in passenger transport violating regulations on ensuring traffic safety, therefore we are focusing on handling these cases to raise awareness of compliance among individuals involved in passenger transport, ensuring safety for everyone visiting the area.” Lieutenant Colonel Truong Minh The emphasized that rectifying traffic order in the Nui Cam Tourist Area is not just a temporary solution but must be carried out regularly and continuously, aiming for long-term stability and building a safe, civilized, and friendly tourism environment.
Working as a passenger transport driver on Mount Cam, Ms. Le Hong Phung always abides by the regulations of the Mount Cam Tourist Area Management Board. “There are about 1,000 people involved in passenger transport on Mount Cam, so it's inevitable that some complex issues will arise. I hope the management unit, local authorities, and relevant agencies will take measures to stabilize traffic safety and order on Mount Cam. We work in passenger transport to make a living; if customers are dissatisfied, we will lose our livelihood. Therefore, everyone wants passenger transport operations to be orderly,” Ms. Phung said.
Ms. Phung educates her "colleagues" on ensuring compliance with regulations when transporting passengers. The female driver hopes to be given the opportunity to continue her work transporting passengers, contributing to building an increasingly civilized and friendly image of the Nui Cam Tourist Area.
Many tourists agree with the authorities' strict handling of traffic safety violations. “Restoring order and traffic safety in the Nui Cam tourist area is necessary. We come here for tourism and sightseeing, so we need safety and friendliness from the locals,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, a resident of Long Xuyen ward.
According to Mr. Dinh Van Chac, restoring order and traffic safety is not intended to cause difficulties for the people, but rather aims at the long-term goal of ensuring everyone's safety. At the same time, it aims to maintain the image of Mount Cam as a civilized and safe destination, worthy of being a key tourist area of the province. “With the Lunar New Year and the Lady of the Mountain Festival in 2026 approaching, the number of tourists visiting Mount Cam is increasing, so tightening discipline, order, and traffic safety in the tourist area is even more important. This is not only an immediate requirement but also a foundation for building a safe and sustainable tourism environment, contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality and creating a beautiful image of Mount Cam tourism,” Mr. Dinh Van Chac affirmed.
| During two patrols and inspections of approximately 100 individuals engaged in passenger transport within the Nui Cam Tourist Area, authorities discovered and handled 37 cases of violations, including altering vehicle specifications, carrying more passengers than permitted, and not wearing helmets. |
