Also receiving a "Great Solidarity" house with three solid foundations (solid foundation, solid roof, solid walls), Mr. Lam Van Cao, a Khmer ethnic minority resident of Hoa Nam hamlet, Vinh Chau ward, Can Tho city, expressed his joy: "I sell lottery tickets every day to make a living, so I couldn't afford to build or renovate my house. Since living in the new house donated by the Border Guard, my health has improved significantly, and my family is also more harmonious and happy."

| The Can Tho City Border Guard Command collaborated in donating solidarity houses as part of the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing. |
To implement the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Can Tho city, the city's Border Guard Command proactively advised and coordinated with the Party committees and authorities of communes and wards in the coastal border area to organize 322 propaganda and mobilization sessions with 2,684 participants and successfully carried out social mobilization to jointly eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the coastal border area of Can Tho city. Colonel Ha Huy Truong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Can Tho City Border Guard Command, said: With the spirit of "Each house is a gift, a warm home," the city's Border Guard Command focused on directing units to enthusiastically participate in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. Accordingly, Border Guard agencies and units sent nearly 1,300 officers and soldiers to the area to contribute labor days; mobilized 466 vehicles (cars and motorbikes) to transport materials and help people build and repair houses in the implementation of the movement; 72 excavators and bulldozers from businesses inside and outside the area were mobilized to help people level the ground; 102 vehicles from local residents were used to transport construction materials for housing projects, ensuring timely completion...
Furthermore, agencies and units have focused on advising and coordinating to effectively investigate and review the target groups; accurately surveying and statistically recording the number of poor households, near-poor households, and policy beneficiary families living in temporary or dilapidated houses. Simultaneously, strengthening inspection and supervision of project progress, quality, and the proper use of funds is crucial to ensuring the movement is substantive, avoiding formalism, waste, and losses... thereby preventing potential negative consequences and building trust among the people.
Through this movement, the Can Tho City Border Guard directly participated in mobilizing resources, building, and repairing 380 houses with a total construction cost of over 16 billion VND. In addition, they mobilized social resources to provide over 1,000 gifts (worth 500,000 VND each); 420 water filters; 120 water tanks and other necessary household items to disadvantaged households. Colonel Ha Huy Truong shared: Alongside the task of helping poor people settle down, the Can Tho City Border Guard continues to implement programs and projects to help people stabilize their livelihoods, such as: preferential loans, vocational training, and guidance on production techniques... aiming to help households stabilize their lives in the long term and reduce the risk of falling back into poverty.
