Can the Google Play Store update multiple apps at the same time?

Previously, Android users often had to wait a long time for the Play Store to complete the installation or update of apps on their devices, because Google only allowed one app to be installed or updated at a time.

However, this has changed as Google has officially re-launched the feature that allows users to download and install multiple app updates at once, providing a more convenient experience for Android users.

Currently, when accessing the Play Store on Android, users can update up to three apps simultaneously. If the device has more than three pending updates and you tap "Update all," the Play Store will begin downloading and installing updates for three apps at once, while the status of the remaining apps will be displayed as "Pending."

This also applies to the process of downloading new apps. Now, users can download up to 4 apps at the same time, and the 5th app onwards will be in a Pending state as shown above.

This feature was first tested in April of this year but was quickly removed by Google. Now, users on some devices, including the Galaxy S23 Ultra, can update up to three apps simultaneously, significantly reducing waiting times and eliminating interruptions while using their phones.

Reportedly, this new feature is being rolled out by Google through server-side changes, not requiring users to update their apps, Google Play services, or operating system. However, the rollout may be phased, so some users may have to wait a little longer before experiencing this useful feature.
