Google, the search giant, has just added two new security features to Android, aimed at enhancing user protection against scam calls and malicious apps.
First is the "Live Threat Detection" feature in Google Play Protect, which monitors app activity on the device to detect dangerous behavior. When a malicious app is detected, it sends an alert to the user, allowing them to take immediate action to protect their personal data.

Google first introduced this feature at its I/O 2024 developer event. Currently, it's available on the Google Pixel 6 and newer phones. The company says that, "in the next few months," devices from other manufacturers such as Lenovo, OnePlus, Nothing, Oppo, etc., will also be equipped with it.
The second feature is "Scam Detection," which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify fraudulent calls in real time. By analyzing conversation patterns, it can alert users to suspicious calls, helping them avoid falling victim to scammers.

This feature is currently only available on Google Pixel 6 and later models and will appear on other Android phones in the future.
Both new features are designed by Google to protect user privacy. Phishing detection processes data entirely on the device, without sending information to the company's servers.
With its continuous efforts to improve security, Google is helping Android users feel more secure when using smartphones in their daily lives.
