Guardiola burst into tears.

The emotional moment between manager Pep Guardiola and his two players Bernardo Silva and John Stones in his final match with Man City brought tears to the eyes of fans.

Midfielder Bernardo Silva was given the captain's armband by manager Pep Guardiola in the 1-2 defeat against Aston Villa in the 38th round of the Premier League on May 24th. In the tunnel before going onto the pitch, the Portuguese international couldn't hold back his tears before his final game for Man City.

Silva will leave Man City on a free transfer after this season ends. He leaves the Etihad Stadium with an enviable collection of trophies including 6 Premier League titles, 5 League Cups, 3 FA Cups and, most notably, the prestigious Champions League trophy.

When Silva left the pitch in the 59th minute, he was given a standing ovation by both Manchester City and Aston Villa players for his impressive career achievements.

Witnessing his players compete in their final match, Guardiola was visibly emotional. This was also the last time the Spanish coach would lead Manchester City, bringing to a close 10 glorious years for the Etihad Stadium team.

Guardiola congratulated Silva as the midfielder left the field. The Portuguese international was one of the key players who helped the former Barcelona coach win numerous titles.

Before the match against Aston Villa, Guardiola's confirmation of leaving Man City came as a surprise to many. Many fans in the stands had previously displayed banners urging the former Barcelona coach to stay at the club for many more years, but to no avail.

Besides Silva and Guardiola, John Stones also said goodbye to Manchester City fans after the end of this season.

Stones then broke down in tears again upon returning to the coaching cabin. He has been with Manchester City since 2016, making a total of 294 appearances.
