For over 10 years, whenever the local authorities launch a voluntary blood donation campaign, Mr. Do Xuan Dieu's family (Tung Blai village, Ia Hru commune) always arranges their schedules to participate. For Mr. Dieu, donating blood is not a temporary act but a responsibility of each individual towards the community.

Mr. Dieu shared that, upon understanding the significance of donating blood to save lives, he realized that each unit of blood donated could help patients regain their lives. This thought motivated him not only to directly participate in blood donation but also to encourage his family members to join in.
Since 2012, Mr. Dieu and his wife and four children have donated blood 45 times. This number is proof of the compassionate spirit nurtured in each member of the family. For their persistent efforts in spreading the act of blood donation to save lives, Mr. Dieu's family was recently awarded a certificate of commendation by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
With the belief that "Every drop of blood donated saves a life," the family of Mr. Le Dac Khai (Nam Tuong 2 village, An Nhon Tay commune) has become one of the exemplary models in the blood donation movement in the locality. Mr. Khai himself has donated blood 23 times, while his wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang, has donated blood 12 times.
According to Mr. Khai, blood donation is a humanitarian act, a noble gesture that helps and saves patients in difficult and critical situations. Therefore, in addition to actively participating in blood donation himself, he also regularly encourages relatives, friends, and colleagues to join the movement.
From pioneering individuals and families with many years of experience in blood donation, the message of love has spread widely throughout the community. These drops of blood not only save lives but also connect compassionate hearts, contributing to building a more humane society.
Spreading community responsibility
In the recent commendation decision by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for collectives, families, and individuals with outstanding achievements in the blood donation campaign during the 2023-2025 period, Nguyen Van Troi Primary School (Pleiku ward) was the only collective to receive a certificate of commendation.
According to Ms. Bui Thi Phuong Hoa, the school principal, the institution considers blood donation a crucial humanitarian activity, demonstrating the responsibility and compassion of each staff member, teacher, and employee. Therefore, the school regularly and extensively promotes awareness of the significance of blood donation.

“From 2023 to the present, the school's staff, teachers, and employees have donated 49 units of safe blood, exceeding the assigned target by 15 units. In particular, the school has also established a Zalo group to promote blood donation, promptly sharing information, answering questions, and spreading positive images of blood donors,” Ms. Hoa said.
Furthermore, through extracurricular activities and regular lessons, Nguyen Van Troi Primary School also integrates education on compassion and sharing for its students. Lessons about love and responsibility towards the community are instilled in the children's hearts from an early age, contributing to the formation of responsible citizens in society in the future.
According to Mr. Ha Van Cat, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, blood donation is no longer a temporary event but is becoming a voluntary act by many individuals, families, groups, and people from all walks of life. According to statistics, from the beginning of the year until now, the entire province has organized 53 blood donation drives, receiving 15,076 units of blood, including 2,869 units of blood donated unexpectedly at the Provincial Central General Hospital and Gia Lai General Hospital.
“The timely recognition and commendation from all levels, sectors, and localities in the blood donation work have contributed to spreading, expanding, and attracting the community's participation in the blood donation movement. Behind these certificates of merit are thousands of units of donated blood, thousands of patients given a chance to live. This is also proof of the widespread influence of the spirit of compassion in the community,” Mr. Ha Van Cat emphasized.
