The event is part of a series of international cultural exchange activities aimed at strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia, while also opening up new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of culture, education , tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
According to the organizers, " Hanoi Culture Day in Moscow 2026" is designed as a space to promote the image of Hanoi as an elegant, civilized city with a rich cultural identity to international friends, thereby contributing to deepening cooperative relations between the two capitals and the two countries.

The highlight of the program is the exhibition "Quoc Tu Giam - Vietnam's First National School (1076 - 2026)". The exhibition recreates the development journey of Vietnamese national education and introduces the typical historical and cultural values of Hanoi.
Established in 1076, the Temple of Literature - National University is considered Vietnam's first university, a symbol of the nation's tradition of valuing education, respecting teachers, and employing talented individuals. This exhibition also marks the 950th anniversary of the founding of this historical site.
In addition to documents and images about cultural heritage, the exhibition also showcases traditional handicrafts, especially a replica of the Dong Son bronze drum, along with many cultural experiences for the Russian public.
In addition to the exhibition, the special art program "Hanoi - Sounds of a Thousand Years" offers a blend of traditional and modern music with the participation of People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, and prominent artists of the capital city.

Audiences enjoyed a variety of unique Vietnamese art forms such as ca trù, hát xẩm Hà Thành, chèo, chầu văn, along with the sounds of traditional Vietnamese musical instruments like the đàn bầu, bamboo flute, and đàn nguyệt. The program also featured contemporary music performances, showcasing a dynamic and creative Hanoi.
Notably, the performance also featured a cultural exchange between Vietnam and Russia through famous Russian songs such as "Moscow Evening," "Harbor Evening," and "The Loyalty of the Swan," demonstrating respect for Russian culture and the close bond between the people of the two countries.
Through this series of activities, Hanoi hopes to more strongly spread the cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi to international friends, while further strengthening the foundation of the strategic cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Russia.
