Under one roof, sharing the same aspirations.
July 1, 2025 marks a historic milestone as the country's territory is being restructured, reducing the number of provinces and cities from 63 to 34, opening up opportunities for breakthrough development in the new era. Joining this process, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang officially merged to form Tuyen Quang province. Along with this new opportunity, the four media outlets of the two localities also ended their individual missions, merging into a powerful multimedia communication entity called Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Television Station.
Every historical transformation is accompanied by the thoughts and concerns of those involved. But at the Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station, the initial distances of the merger were quickly erased by sharing and responsibility. Journalist Duy Tuan still vividly remembers the image of Comrade Mai Duc Thong, Director of the Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station, traveling over 150 kilometers to Ha Giang to personally welcome the staff, reporters, editors, and technicians to take up their duties at the first facility. “That trip helped us fully feel the care, responsibility, and affection of the head of the agency. Therefore, no one felt like they were entering a ‘merger,’ but rather returning to a warm and welcoming home,” Tuan recalled.

That sense of belonging is also shared by reporter Moc Lan. She shared: “In the early days of joining the new environment, I couldn't help but feel a little disoriented. But the care and support of my colleagues, from daily life to professional work, helped me integrate quickly and get up to speed with the job. The open, professional, and sharing-oriented work environment has further motivated me to pursue in-depth articles with high practical value.”
The value of unity is not only measured by the efficiency of the organization's operations, but also tested and affirmed in times of hardship. The historic floods of 2025 caused heavy losses to many families of staff and reporters, but also highlighted the spirit of solidarity and camaraderie among colleagues under one roof. From leaders to colleagues, everyone worked together to help move assets and overcome the consequences of the natural disaster. Members of the Board of Directors even personally visited each family to offer condolences, encouragement, and timely support. During those difficult days, this sharing not only helped overcome losses but also bonded journalists into a united, compassionate, and responsible team.
It is from this foundation of unity, consensus, and sharing that the strength of this collaboration continues to be transformed into concrete results in professional activities, especially in the digital transformation journey and the building of a modern multimedia news agency. In June 2026, the Tuyen Quang Newspaper Online Podcast channel officially launched, marking a new step in mastering the trend of audio journalism on digital platforms. Along with this, the YouTube, Fanpage, and TikTok channels of Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television have continuously achieved prestigious verification certifications (blue tick); TikTok alone is among the Top 10 local Party newspapers with outstanding propaganda effectiveness on this platform.
From this shared roof, a common aspiration has emerged: to build Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television into a professional, modern, and distinctive multimedia news agency, capable of leading information dissemination, spreading positive values, and accompanying the province as it confidently enters a new era.
Pioneering spirit, spreading values.
A year after the merger, the spirit of dedication, innovation, and social responsibility have become prominent values, contributing to shaping the new image of Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television.
From Tan Trao – the capital of the liberated zone – to the remote villages in the far north, the expanded working environment has opened up many new topics and perspectives for journalists. Journalist Le Thuy likens this new space to an endless "treasure trove" of topics, ranging from culture and community tourism to the task of maintaining the border – providing valuable material for in-depth articles. As for reporter Sy Tung, he shared: "A wider working environment also means greater responsibility, but it's also an opportunity for journalists to enrich their life experiences and grow professionally."

The spirit of dedication is not only evident in the hundreds of kilometers that reporters travel for their work, but is also inspired by the leaders of the agency. Comrade Nguyen Dam Thuyen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Lien Hiep commune, commented: "What is valuable is that the comrades in the Board of Directors not only lead through plans or reports, but also directly go down to the grassroots, accompanying reporters in the reporting process. This closeness to the people and the grassroots has contributed to creating works rich in the breath of life, accurately reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of the people. This is also proof of the courage, responsibility, and passion for the profession of those working in journalism."
From this point onwards, many insightful journalistic works with rich practical value and widespread impact were produced, contributing to the proud record of achievements of Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television at national-level journalism awards. In just the first year of the merger, Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television were continuously honored at prestigious national-level journalism awards, including 1 Gold Award and 4 Encouragement Awards at the 42nd National Television Festival; 1 B Award and 1 C Award at the Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards; 1 C Award and 1 Encouragement Award at the 20th National Journalism Awards; 2 B Awards at the Dien Hong Awards, along with many specialized awards organized by central ministries and agencies.
These awards not only affirm the quality of the works but also serve as vivid evidence of the synergistic power following the merger. It is the synergy of experience, courage, and intellect of journalists from two different organizations and regions; the connection between various forms of journalism within the converged newsroom model; and the collaborative effort to create journalistic products that are insightful, insightful, and widely disseminated.
If awards are a measure of the quality of a work, then social activities reflect the responsibility and humanity of journalists. Through the "Bridge of Compassion" column, Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Television have connected and supported 42 disadvantaged individuals with a total budget of over 5.3 billion VND; and mobilized resources to build 12 houses for the poor, orphaned children, and children with disabilities. In addition, the "Kite Against the Wind" program continues to support poor students and children with particularly difficult circumstances, contributing to giving them strength and helping them realize their dreams of going to school.
According to Comrade Tran Manh Loi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department: “What is noteworthy after one year of merging Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television is the successful convergence of two traditional journalistic streams to create a common and increasingly strong journalistic brand. It is a “convergent newsroom” built on comradeship, collective intelligence, and a desire to contribute. This synergy has created new values, contributing to affirming the essence of revolutionary journalism: sharp in writing, humane in action, and steadfast in its mission to serve the Fatherland and the People.”
