Two pythons raised by local people were handed over.

The first python weighed about 28 kg and the other two weighed 23 and 13 kg respectively and were delivered by two residents in An Phu ward, Thu Duc city.

The three pythons were raised by locals since 2021 when they were young as pets. However, due to concerns that the large pythons could pose a danger to others, locals have voluntarily handed them over to the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department.

They also hope that the two pythons will be released into the forest to reproduce.

The HCM City Forest Protection Department identified these as three pythons, scientifically named Python bivittatus, belonging to group IIB in the list of rare and endangered forest animals. All three pythons are in normal health.

The three pythons will be brought to the Wildlife Rescue Station for care and rescue according to regulations.
