The TNSV THACO Cup 2025 football tournament has a record number of participants (since the beginning of 2023), with 67 teams from universities, colleges, and academies nationwide competing, including: 66 teams in the qualifying round and the host team, Ton Duc Thang University (playing from the final round).

Accordingly, the qualifying round of the TNSV THACO Cup 2025 will feature 66 teams divided into 6 regions, competing from December 28, 2024 to January 18, 2025. These regions include: the Northern region (December 30, 2024 - January 10, 2025 at the Water Resources University Stadium, Hanoi ), the Central Coastal region (January 6 - 12, 2025 at the Military Region 5 Stadium - Da Nang), the South Central and Central Highlands regions (January 10 - 18, 2025 at the Nha Trang University Stadium), the Southeast region (January 4 - 12, 2025 at Bau Thanh Stadium, Ba Ria - Vung Tau), the Southwest region (January 8 - 17, 2025 at Can Tho Stadium), and Ho Chi Minh City (December 28, 2024 - January 15, 2025 at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium). Eleven teams that qualified, along with the host team Ton Duc Thang University, will compete in the final round of the tournament from March 1st to March 16th, 2024, following the same format as the current U.19 and U.21 tournaments.

- The northern region has 9 participating teams, divided equally into 3 groups. The teams play a single round-robin format to determine rankings. The top two teams from each group and the best-performing second-place team will play in a play-off, with the top two teams advancing to the finals.

- The Central Coastal region has 9 participating teams, divided equally into 3 groups. The teams play a single round-robin format to determine rankings. The top two teams in each group and the second-placed team with the best record will play in a play-off, with the top two teams advancing to the final round.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals and finals. The winner of the regional final will advance to the grand final.
