Dating at the night streets

For those who have lived in Saigon for a long time, "going to Saigon" means going to the city center, the City Theatre, Le Loi Street where the famous Bach Dang ice cream dates back to the subsidy era, Ben Thanh Market with its delicious food, Nguyen Hue Street, and Bach Dang Wharf bustling with tourist boats...

Although it sounds like there are many places, in reality they are all within a radius of about 1km; you can see one place from another. The center of Saigon is perfect for strolling and admiring the magnificent streets. The tour begins at the City Theatre, built in 1898 in the Gothic style. Today, it hosts performances of operas, ballets, symphonies, and other renowned art shows. On nights with events, the theater is brilliantly illuminated both inside and out. On other days, the courtyard in front of the theater becomes a popular photo spot for young people because of its spacious and airy environment; every angle looks great in pictures. Nearby are also well-maintained, seasonally decorated historic buildings, such as the Caravelle Hotel on the left, which has stood for over 60 years, and the Continental Hotel, the oldest hotel in Vietnam, on the right. Sitting on the illuminated stone steps in front of the theater, one can watch the stream of people and vehicles passing by from Dong Khoi Street. The steps are only a short distance from the street, but just enough space for the noise of traffic to not be too bothersome. From the theater, you can see straight ahead the stop for the double-decker city tour buses, followed by Le Loi Street with the spacious Metro Opera House Park. Beyond the park is the Nguyen Hue water fountain show area. When the streetlights come on, this area also sparkles with a constantly changing display of lights. On weekend evenings, many young people gather around the musical fountain area.

To the right of the main musical fountain roundabout is the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee building, with its classic French architecture. At night, under the effect of yellow lights, the building appears taller and more radiant, yet still maintains harmony with the surrounding landscape.
